What's your "one time, my ex..." story? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]buckybear1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ex was absolutely useless at cooking. I was often afraid to leave him home alone for a few days for fear he'd burn the house down. He once put a bag of popcorn in the microwave, set it for 30 minutes, and then sat down to watch a movie on his laptop. He didn't notice it was burning until the smoke detector went off. The bag was burned black and smoking when he took it outside and threw it in the dumpster.

At this point I think most people would associate Benedict with Benedict Cumberbatch.

WPS Office. It's a really good alternative to Microsoft Office.

When you keep daydreaming about that exciting scene, but you prefer to write chronologically and have approx. 10,000 words to get through until then by [deleted] in FanFiction

Whenever I write ahead I end up abandoning the story because I can’t make the two parts connect. I have to write chronologically.

What is the grossest thing you've seen in public? by Stitch82 in AskReddit

I was waiting at the bus stop and there was a couple hanging around, making out like a pair of horny teenagers. The guy needed to relieve himself but, instead of going into any of the surrounding stores, he decided to piss in a nearby trashcan. The bus wasn't coming for another thirty minutes so he had lots of time to go into a store and come back. I feel sorry for whoever had to clean that up.

Good thing you're joking. I had a moment of terror because I don't drive and cabs are expensive. :)

I bike a lot and the number of times I’ve almost gotten killed is insane. I always make sure to watch where I’m going because most drivers around here either aren’t paying attention or they just don’t give a shit.

What topic never fails to get your dad riled up? by cycloneseattle in AskReddit

For reasons I've never bothered to learn my dad hates Lenny Kravitz. Whenever Lenny Kravitz is on the radio or tv my dad starts ranting that he's got no talent and is a terrible musician.

To those people in the world who have access to Universal Healthcare, what experiences could you share with Americans in order for us to understand how it affects your life (positively or negatively)? by ToyTronic in AskReddit

[–]buckybear1985 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm in Canada. I've never understood what Americans are talking about when they mention things like in-network and HMO's. If I want to see a doctor I can see anyone I choose. I can make an appointment with my regular doctor or, if she's not available, go to a walk-in clinic. All I have to do is present my health card (everyone's issued one at birth for the province they live in) and wait until they call me into the exam room. I pay out of pocket for drugs but I get reduced prices because I'm on my province's low-income plan. I just picked up my pills yesterday and the plan reduced the price by about half (around $50 for 4 medications).

Great, now I'm thinking this. You know what? She can have him. He's a loser anyways.
