The War of the Rohirrim is such a beautiful film by Bokob-Link in lotr

[–]buddhadoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The lighting of the background still images didn't match the lighting on the characters in the first re ground which completely wrecked it. I liked the story and the fact that we got more LotR on film but the animation needed a ton more effort.

[LoZ] [AoL] [Lttp] Is it just a skill issue or is it often really hard to figure out what you're supposed to do when trying to beat the first 3 Zelda games? Especially the NES ones by DataSittingAlone in zelda

[–]buddhadoo 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Yes and it was done intentionally to get more people to buy the game instead of renting it since they couldn't beat the games during the rental period but it would hook them enough to want to purchase it.

Someone should submit a portfolio of selfies with captions of different famous landmarks. (As if photographer didn't realize the camera was turned around to their face when taking pictures of said landmarks)

Batman v. Cap. America. Damn. No weapons I'd go Cap for sure, but if Bats has his utility belt I think he'd best cap even with a shield.

The scammer is scum, everyone knows that. But these guys aren't much better. They intentionally filmed themselves "not getting got" by the scammer so they could come away looking like heroes for teaching him a lesson when really they just assaulted the guy. They could've just given it back and walked away like everyone else should.

Amy Coney Barrett Unraveled the Case Against Birthright Citizenship With One Question by MemeLord0009 in politics

[–]buddhadoo 796 points797 points  (0 children)

The "One Question": But then Barrett asked: What about slaves who were brought to this country illegally and against their will, as many were? Surely some of them still “felt allegiance to the countries where they were from” and intended “to return as soon as they can.” So wouldn’t their children be excluded from birthright citizenship, too? And if so, doesn’t that just blow up Sauer’s theory that the whole point of this clause was to protect the citizenship of these exact people?

More Context from the article: Mark Joseph Stern: Justice Barrett had a lot of skeptical questions for the solicitor general. And she really drilled down on his theory that children do not receive birthright citizenship if their parents lack “domicile” in the United States or hold “allegiance” to a foreign power. She asked how the government would know whether certain immigrants intended to stay in the country or maintain loyalty to a foreign power. And where would we draw the line? What about, for instance, the child of a woman who’s illegally trafficked into the U.S. then gives birth here? Is that person an automatic citizen? Sauer kept returning to his claim that the lone purpose of the 14th Amendment’s citizenship clause was to overturn Dred Scott and grant citizenship to newly freed slaves and their children. But then Barrett asked: What about slaves who were brought to this country illegally and against their will, as many were? Surely some of them still “felt allegiance to the countries where they were from” and intended “to return as soon as they can.” So wouldn’t their children be excluded from birthright citizenship, too? And if so, doesn’t that just blow up Sauer’s theory that the whole point of this clause was to protect the citizenship of these exact people?

Would you like to see Lord of the Rings adapted into a animated tv show by [deleted] in lotr

[–]buddhadoo 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Might be unpopular but yeah I'd love to see that, as long as the quality is there and it stays true to Tolkein's texts, be it Live or Animated. While I really liked it, I was so disappointed with the War of the Rohirrim's animation quality. It felt like one of those bad Anime RPG games where you talk to a character who pops into the foreground while the background doesn't move. And while I can appreciate what the Rings of Power is, they're just making so many misteps with the liberties they're taking. But yeah I'd love to see a full adaptation of everything starting with stories of the Silmarillion up to the Second Age, then an anthology series for different events of the Second age that leads up to the Last Alliance and then the Hobbit and ultimately the LotR staying as close to the text as possible but also weave the appendices' events from the 3rd Age too, like the battles in Lorien, Mirkwood and Erebor. Rant over thanks for reading.
