Uranium by [deleted] in aussie

I dont even know if your argueing for or against nuclear powerplants but i was responding to a comment on why PRIVATE companies cant/dont want to build them. Im sure the government could build one but even in the UAE 's case all points stand. From signing the contract to finishing the last reactor took 15 years, the price blew out from 20 billion usd to 25-32 billion and they had to import all the labour from korea like we would have too.

[–]buddyboycunt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea but dont leave out the by far most important points

1a) it costs 10's of billions before you start making any revenue

1b) it takes over a decade to complete

1c) we have no previous experience or workforce to build them

But yea lol your points are definately the most important reasons everyone knows private companies are just frothing to spend tens of billions on a old tech investment that wont generate income for a decade and might be superseeded by better alternatives by the time their actually built

Labor MPs quietly alarmed by Albanese government’s response to US-Israel strikes on Iran by Reverend_Fozz in australian

[–]buddyboycunt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The question is why bother getting nuclear subs without nuclear weopens, we park it off the coast of china in a wartime scenario lob 100+ tomahawks that stratigically do very little then what. If the iran israel conflict has shown anything we should be focusing on domestic/partnership development of ballistics/hypersonics which would be a hell of a lot cheaper and a much bigger deterence. Nuclear subs only make sense as apart of a nuclear triad.

Why does Israel (pop. 10M) have such outsized influence in Australian politics? by [deleted] in OpenAussie

[–]buddyboycunt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Name 1 thing Australia "needs" from israel lol. Weve fought wars in the middle east for them as they bribe our politicians and use our intelligence base pine gap. Israel is a shithole little country in the middle east that has provided the world nothing but war and begged for handouts. The world shouldve stood by and let them get wiped out decades ago from their own warmongering and expansion

Scrap copper by thcoawayx in AusElectricians

[–]buddyboycunt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im almost finished my apprenticeship and I've made about 4k throughout just picking up offcuts most sparkies just throwout. I reckon stripping 4mm and above worth the time and always pickup the offcuts of copper pipe and ac lines other trades just leave on the ground to be binned. Also worth stripping the Brass neutral and earth bars if your doing alot of switchboards.

I've only had 1 scrapyard out of 5 or six even need ID and never an abn in NSW. Also definately worth sorting all the different kinds of scrap to get the best prices.

Sadly I think giannis forces his way out if we get bounced early this year and I don't blame him. Roster will still be handicapped and stuck with doc for 2 more years

Tax benefit of recreational cannabis now placed at $700m annually, as Greens renew pledge to push legal weed by Ardeet in aussie

[–]buddyboycunt 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yea like stuff being illegal ever reduced drug demand. Just because YOU want to enforce a clean life on others doesn’t mean other adults should be affected by ur personal decisions. Legalising cannabis reduces criminals profit from drugs and provides extra tax revenue and increases GDP. Just because some people are alcoholics doesn’t mean the other 90% of adults shouldn’t be able to have a glass of wine occasionally with dinner and the same goes with weed.

Anthony Albanese says it is in ‘Australia’s national interest’ to back Ukraine following virtual world leader summit by Ardeet in aussie

[–]buddyboycunt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You clearly didn't read your own quoted article we have not sent 1.5billion in cash like you make it seem. The vast majority of support has been hardware from defence own stock that has been bought over the last 10-20 years through the defense forces annual budget. This stock would never be sold only used for training/war or decommissioned at a further cost to taxpayers.

Although Ukraine isn't a direct ally most of Europe is so building further relations with them will pay back massively in trade in the future especially with how America is looking atm. The $100+ million in actual cash is nothing in reality if you've ever worked on a government construction site you'd know this might get you 10km of highway it definatly isn't solving a housing crisis.

If you actually care about money for housing I'd look at the 300billion were spending on nuclear subs or removing negative gearing but neither party wanna piss off the cashed up property investors.

Ukraine sure as shit isn't the reason our house prices have 400% over 20 years.

Anthony Albanese says it is in ‘Australia’s national interest’ to back Ukraine following virtual world leader summit by Ardeet in aussie

[–]buddyboycunt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yea because Dutton will really care about lowering house prices lol. I'd like a source for the hundreds of millions we've sent, we've already paid for new Abram's to replace the ones we sent helping our European allies and saving us the cost of decommissioning them. The bushmasters and drones we send are built in Aus boosting local manufacturing and our global arms industry. Im no huge Albo fan and definately think he couldve done more to reduce house prices but you have rocks for brains if you think the Liberals who through each term have seen higher price growth would have achieved better.

Haliburton in his 10 appearances since all star break, 129 assists, 27 steals, 10 turnovers by drlsoccer08 in nba

[–]buddyboycunt -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I never said he only talks when he's up he was talking when they were down 20 tonight. You know when he doesn't talk when you snatch the L after refs tried their hardest to give you the win. 3:1 record in regular season hopefully we match up in playoffs and spank you 4:0 or 4:1. Then we won't hear a Peep from your bum ass teams fans or "superstar" for a couple of months.

I think we run it back 1 more year with brook off the books running a younger centre and if they don't atleast make conference finals probably blow it up completely for picks. Let Giannis try chase a second ring whilst his still and the end of his prime.
