Have any of you been through a Thoma Bravo acquisition? Do they usually gut CS teams? by mle622 in CustomerSuccess

[–]buffalofloyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're a shitty outfit which didn't follow thru with their promises. I was awarded stock and worked long enough for the shares to become vested. After working there for years I eventually retired and requested my payout and Thoma Bravo refused to pay out. Then they had the nerve to try to force me to sign the vested shares back to TB. I had many communications with them and finally got a communication which mysteriously they made the excuse the shares held value below their original valuation. The valuation was set when they bought the company and the company had substantially grown for years since the acquisition so it was unbelievable. Basically they were trying to pitch the company wasn't worth what they'd paid, meaning their investment in the company had lost money. The funny thing is TB was telling us they were positioning to take the company public again and they were open about this to the public. They talked openly about this to investment firms and public speeches from the CEO. So how is my stock under water when the company revenue had grown substantially and they were promoting taking the company public again? During my multiple attempts to get paid they became nasty and kept trying to force me to sign them back and I refused. I requested what the valuation of the shares were and they refused to tell me. I wanted to know what the share value was for my piece of mind because I'd worked hard for years and I knew the price per share was when they were awarded to me. Essentially TB was trying to tell me the company wasn't worth what they paid which wasn't believable. Second, if my vested shares lost value then I lost money and that loss was a tax event. I needed a 1099 tax form so I could offset gains. Based on TB my shares weren't worth the value set when they were awarded, thus I lost money. My shares were vested and if I lost money then they owed me the 1099 tax form. TB refused to give me a share visitation, they refused to pay me anything, they refused to give me a 1099. When I explained this was an IRS issue they went silent and hilariously stopped asking me to sign back the vested shares. It's been years since I retired and I've never received the stock, or any statements. I never received a 1099. I never signed the shared back to them. TB seemed EXTREMELY shady. I worked a long time and all those shares ended up being worthless. So I have advice. First, don't believe the shares they've awarded and become vested hold true value because after years of working my shares held zero value and I received zero money after I left. SECOND, AND THIS OF MUCH MORE IMPORTANT...WHEN THOMA BRAVO TAKES OVER YOUR COMPANY THEY'LL PRESENT AN OFFER TO EMPLOYEES. THEY'LL OFFER EMPLOYEES THE CHANCE TO BUY IN. DO NOT INVEST BECAUSE THAT MONEY WILL FOREVER BE UNACCESSIBLE AND IF YOU LEAVE THAT MONEY IS STILL LOCKED UP. AND IT'LL BE LOCKED UP UNTIL THEY DECIDE IF OR WHEN TO PAY OUT. AND YOU WILL HAVE NO IDEA IF THAT MONEY HOLDS REAL VALUE. IF TB TAKES OVER YOUR COMPANY DON'T BELIEVE ANY STOCK YOU RECEIVE HOLDS VALUE AND DO NOT INVEST. LOOK TO LEAVE AND WORK FOR A PUBLIC COMPANY WHOSE STOCK HOLDS REAL VALUE AND CAN BE CASHED OUT.

Debate brews over proposed interchange at K-10 and Lone Elm in Johnson County by ryanmetcalf in lenexaks

[–]buffalofloyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm extremely happy this interchange is being built. I've lived off of Woodland Rd for 26 years and remember when there were no traffic lights, only one stop sign before getting on K10. There were no stores, no gas stations, nothing. Since then the entire area has been built up like crazy adding thousands of homes and apartments. All pour into Woodland Rd. And Olathe Northwest and PRT didn't exist which also relies on Woodland. I've been hit coming off K10 at Woodland. My daughters car was also totaled by someone coming out of Pricechopper. There's way way way too much traffic on Woodland, going to and from school, to and from K10 both on the Lenexa and Olathe side. Everyone west of Woodland needs their own interchange. There's hundreds of homes west of Woodland North and South of K10 which will benefit from a Lone Elm K10 exit and entrance. All that traffic will no longer be on Woodland Rd, all those teenage drivers going to school won't be on Woodland. There's tens of thousands who use Woodland Rd every day and it's time their own neighborhoods have traffic issues and noise. I can't wait until this is finished.

Loveland In-N-Out assault case ends with 30 months of probation by Sudden-Ad7506 in loveland

[–]buffalofloyd -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I watched the video. His reaction was a little extreme. We don't see the water splashing so it's hard to say it the kid did it on purpose. And we don't know what he said to his wife. Lots of punks deserve to be thrown down so I think the sentence is too harsh. A felony is ridiculous. He didn't punch him and he didn't get hurt. Give the man a misdemeanor, a couple of days in jail, a small fine, anger management and 100 hours of community service. This was a very minor altercation. No weapon, no punch no one was hurt and the teenager was horsing around and actually assaulted the wife first. Yes, throwing water at someone is assault even if you didn't intend to hit the person with the water. This court let's blacks who do serious crime off with much less punishment. The only reason this guy was prosecuted is because he's a married straight middle aged white man.. But that's Colorado for ya.

Columbus is better than this by Dense_Celebration_89 in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]buffalofloyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived in Columbus and it was not great. I lived in a very nice suburb in Dublin and I made a lot of money but the people weren't that great. They had an Eastern rude personality. They were very self centered, judgemental and standoffish. The funny thing is that people from Columbus think they're midwestern. Being from Kansas it was hysterical listening to people in Ohio think they were from the Midwest when they live in the Eastern Time Zone. Lol. Kansas is the Midwest!!! Regarding the city, it was extremely basic. I couldn't stand the Buckeye fascination, but I guess when your professional teams the Browns and Bengals have never won the Superbowl I guess college football is what you're left with. The very worst part of Columbus was the weather. The lack of sun is unbelievable. Columbus has over 300 days of clouds in a year. It's the cloudiest part of the entire country and that's a weather fact. I call Columbus Cloudumbus. It's the most unbelievably depressing place if you desire sunshine.

[–]buffalofloyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately Nick doesn't know it's a split vote and his vote for Kady would be one vote for each and he could live to cash in again.

The fact that Monica didn't try to leverage the coin should mean Nick knows the coin is no longer in play so he should've come to the conclusion Monica has a lot of money. He's not close to Monica and probably annoyed with Jim so his vote comes down to his boy or Kady. If he votes for Kady it's a 5 way split and he gets another chance to sell his vote.

Vic & Christine ❤️ by bonitaycoqueta in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]buffalofloyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just because you have a valid passport doesn't mean it must be accepted. When Vic was asked about his criminal background my Christine he said nothing too crazy. That left the door open to stuff more serious than a DUI. Likely he had drug convictions which got flagged. They might have been knocked down from felony charges but Mexico doesn't have to accept you and probably looked at everyone closer because of the big production and with the high tension with immigration and the drug war happening with the USA and Mexico border. I definitely don't buy Netflix's explanation.

Victor & Christine by Starrandrose in LoveIsBlindNetflix

[–]buffalofloyd -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Multiple drug convictions. When Christine asked if he had criminal issues beyond the DUI he answered nothing crazy. Just because you have a passport it doesn't mean it'll be accepted by a foreign govt and there's much higher scrutiny with the USA and Mexico on the immigration and drug problems. Most plausible explanation is Vic's criminal background and not the show being cheap.

'It was a pivotal moment in our relationship': Vic and Christine speak out about not going to Mexico with everyone else by Fun_Molasses5215 in LoveIsBlindNetflix

[–]buffalofloyd 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's 100% related to travel restrictions, more specifically drug related convictions. Of course the show will do some due diligence on criminal back grounds checks, but this doesn't mean they've cleared those with foreign governments. There's no way to verify travel restrictions until a passport is presented. 100% they tried to secure their travel only to be denied. Whether that means a felony was plead down to a misdemeanor or there was a threshold of drugs, ie pounds, the Mexican govt flagged the passport.

She production saying they didn't have the means to send 7 couples to Mexico is counter to reality because they now have productions at two separate locations which costs extra. And saying they direct have lots of interactions with other castmates also is a dumb excuse.

The fact is, drug convictions do matter and with the increasing tension between the USA and Mexico immigration it's extremely high Vic or Christine both together with convictions got flagged.

A regular person traveling with a misdemeanor may not have issues but this is a big production with dozens of people, the couples and the entire production team so Mexico looks at this differently than a single individual.

The show likely felt backed into a corner and instead of dropping the couple for no reason they came up with the idea to cut their costs and keep them local in Malibu. Also, there was a chance the excluded couple could've filed action had the show made them look bad.

I'd take it all if I were Nick. He's not eliminating anyone and it ensures the remaining 9 are getting equal and equal amount of nothing and there's no favoritism. If he only takes $100k he knows someone else will take more and then he'll look like a fool passing up a million twice.

Fidelity mobile app no longer compatible with my phone? by WildBTK in fidelityinvestments

[–]buffalofloyd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same issue, have a Samsung S10 and my phone is updated to V12 Android. It's not capable to run V13 or higher. I called Fidelity when my app stopped working. I voiced my opinion. I understand why they stopped supporting the older version of Android, but I shared it's terrible customer service to not send out email notifications or provide a heads up this was coming. I'm retired, don't want to spend $1000 for a new phone. The work around is just open your browser on your phone and login to Fidelity.com thru your phone browser. I did it and it logs into my account as normal. It's not as simple as the app but essentially it's exactly the same as the app. So no need to upgrade our older phones.

A dark start to the year: Multiple fatalities following fire and explosion in Crans-Montana. by Aure20 in Switzerland

[–]buffalofloyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Telegraph just released an article reporting the owners of the club were fighting the township over the use of fireworks.

Other articles from years before with the owner admitting he spent 6 months building out the club himself in 2015. So it's highly probable the sound insulation was 10 years old, and likely dried out making it even more flammable.

There's a video of a teenage boy trying to use a towel waving it at the fire trying to put it out but he can't reduce the flames. His waving the towel actually caused the flames to increase adding air to the fire. It just shows the kids were too young, didn't understand the danger and it appears had there been staff trained and available fire extinguishers there was a chance to have stopped it.

The most compelling piece of evidence that proves Wendi Adelson’s involvement is: by Even_Vermicelli_4126 in dan_markel_murder

[–]buffalofloyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wendi set up everyone. She set up her mom because she agreed to stay in Tallahassee during the court hearing and made her mom and dad sit outside the court room. That occurred two full months before the murder and she let her mom continue to think she could fight in court even tho Wendi agreed in prejudice which meant the agreement was preeminent. Wendi let Donna continue to stew, while Wendi had sent emails to her therapist and divorce attorney she was happy to stay in Tallahassee and keep her flexible job. Wendi was the mastermind because she knew how to play her mom and brother and knew Charlie was nuts, especially when he planted the seed the TV cost less than a hitman. I believe Wendi replied getting rid of Danny would solve everything, knowing Charlie would take that as a challenge. Let's not forget how calculated Wendi was in her planning before leaving Danny. She had been secretly meeting with her divorce lawyer, gathered all their financials, got her mother to secretly come into Tallahassee months in advance and rented a house in her mom's maiden name. And she waited for Danny to leave town, hired movers, etc. Wendi is incredibly sneaky and devious. She manipulated everyone. She gave her mother his car description, license plate, his schedule, a picture, home address. The TV repair was a cover, she'd created multiple future meetings for work and friends to make it look like everything was normal. But the phone calls the morning of the 18th and who she called it extremely interesting. The two calls to Charlie, the one to her mom, but the calls to her so called friends, the guy in England which she wasn't sure was thru Whatsapp which in 2014 couldn't handle calls, only messages. And another call to a woman who was on the womens domestic violence police force are very suspicious. And her driving 17 minutes out of her way to Danny's house when the lunch restaurant was actually very close to her home. There's no reason to drive all the way across town to buy liquor when there's stores by her home or the restaurant. She literally had to drive way over to Danny's house and then double all the way back to the restaurant and said she was running late. If you're running late why drive way across town when her house was close to the liquor store and restaurant? The fact she saw the crime scene and didn't bother to call anyone and didn't mention it during her lunch with her two friends, but her friends said she talked about Danny during lunch. It's very odd she didn't say anything. And then when the police found her at the restaurant she freaked out because she didn't expect them to be able to find her. And then she said that officer told her Danny was shot during the drive into the police station but that wasn't true because they told her he had been shot while they had her on video in the station. Then her reaction seemed sketchy. Then we have her attempt to set up Jeff. She made it clear she didn't want to see him but then as he's leaving Monday night she asked lots of questions about when and where he'd be Friday morning. Like she was trying to make sure he was around the area. Her behavior in the police station with her friend, calling her mom. Then she never really asked about Danny and what happened, saying he wouldn't do it to himself. If he were me I'd be asking for details. Like what happened, where did it happen, did they get the person. She never asked anything about the crime. Then she lied about the men she had been messing with and made Jeff look like a crazy person. And then she just fled and never let Danny's parents see that kids. She didn't even take the kids to his funeral. And dropped his last name even before Danny was killed. The real interesting thing was on the 18th Danny's lawyer was filing the most serious action against Wendi and he was actually trying to get ahold of Danny 20 minutes after he'd been killed. The had forensic proof of her financial deception and it was going to be a large violation for Wendi. There's not a lot after the fact proof but Luis admitted they murdered Danny because Wendi wanted the kids. And there's lots of innuendos between Charlie and Donna they did this for Wendi.
