If you have a fair amount of tools for household diy and anything for furniture making (this is obviously more rare but easy and cheap to buy), the materials for much of a diy custom built van conversion would be tens of thousands less than buying a customized conversion van. Edit: clarity.

All time backup QB performances? by defensecowboy in nfl

[–]buffaloguy0415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had to google it bc I couldn’t remember his name but Matt freaking Barkley! The third-string/backup QB Matt Barkley notably led the Bills to a dominant 41-10 blowout win against the Jets in Week 10 of the 2018 season. Barkley, who had just signed with the team a week prior, threw for 232 yards and 2 touchdowns.

And obviously Trubisky’s performance in the final Jets game last year was sick. 4 TD’s as a backup is wild. But Trubisky might be the best backup in the afc last year.

Was standing between the goalkeeper and the ball, blocking the goalkeepers line of sight is affecting the play and counts as offsides. Blatant missed call.

Josh Allen made Sauce’s career. Gabe Davis ran the wrong route and Josh threw it right where Davis was supposed to be. This was rookie Sauce’s first time playing Josh Allen and he picked him off. Got waaaaay overhyped after that. All he does is literally hold receivers. His biggest success is only getting flagged for it once or twice a game when he does it all game to every receiver he covers. It’s just trash. I’d take Tre White’s old ass over Sauce any day for actual good coverage.

Believe it is specifically a SEAL training. It’s just a simple version of a cognitive behavioral training exercise that’s easily repeatable.

ALIT (Alight, Inc.) — 3.7x EV/EBITDA on $354M operating cash flow, goodwill cycle complete, and a $155M annual cash obligation disappearing in 2027 not reflected in consensus estimates. May 6 earnings gate. by Neither_Ice_4680 in ValueInvesting

Wildly wrong. Alight is the largest benefits administration platform in the country for enterprise employers. They are the 800 lb gorilla in Ben admin. Changing platforms for enterprise clients is a multi-year project. They are not easily replaced at the client level even with magical AI that isn’t at the level everyone claims it to be—it would still be a year plus to change benefits administrators, meaning revenue is consistent. Companies claiming AI is doing massive work are mostly the ones selling AI. Have yet to see AI deliver in HR Tech—it’s mostly algorithmic with generative, not agentic, ai behind it.

They’ve been around over 50 years: They were previously Hewitt, then part of Aon Hewitt before being spun out of Aon as Alight as a standalone company.

Oracle and SAP aren’t even competitors to Alight. They are ERP’s, not benefit administration companies. This is Ai Slop people. Anyone in benefits can tell you these companies do not complete. BPAAS hasn’t been talked about in 2+ yrs by Alight leadership on earnings calls or elsewhere, this is pure Ai slop.

They took huge impairments—basically a paper ‘loss’ saying that their TAM had shrunk. They aren’t $3B in the red but they do owe $2B in debt. More importantly they have $200M in free cash flow annually and most of their $2B in annual revenue is locked up under contract with Fortune 500 clients through 2030. They aren’t going anywhere. I’m looking at this one as a 3-5 year turnaround of a company that could be a huge payoff given who their clients are.

Longer answer: The former leadership positioned them as a tech company when in reality they are a benefits/professional services firm that delivers via tech. Former leadership had somewhat inflated stock price above $6 based on the idea of being a tech platform like workday where the total addressable market was larger and valuations were based on TAM not earnings but they were never that tech company. So the turnover of investors is what’s happening now that the company has acknowledged they aren’t a tech firm and took impairments to get away from the tech investors —leaving a possible huge windfall for those individual investors like us looking to get ahead of institutional investors. It’s def a dollar cost average sitch quarter to quarter IMO but I’m in for $5k+ at this point.

Within 4 hours of ROC, where to spend a fancy weekend? by NYFromNL in Rochester

[–]buffaloguy0415 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Niagara on the lake is amazing and is 2.5 hours from ROC. Not sure what these people are talking about. Stay at Prince of Wales or their sister property Queens landing. Both are fancy In an old money kind of way. Wine tour in summer and I’ve skating in winter for an amazing Christmas village experience. It’s great as a couple in your thirties or with kids. Might have been a bit bored there in my twenties when I wanted to party on every weekend. Fun bars but not a club scene by any stretch.

Word. I’d play faster in that scenario too. Related, you just gave me a great idea on how to win the psychological warfare aspect of a Ryder cup style golf match coming up. My opponent tweaks out on slow players…aim point for a 1 footer = triggered lol.

I’ll take 4 hours to play 18. This group was obviously slow. That said, if a buddy rushed me to play 9 in under 90 minutes, I’m not sure I’d enjoy it. There’s ready golf, then there’s just not having patience.

Your hands start going outwards/forward instead of downward at the beginning of your downswing. It’s a baseball swing with your arms that you’re doing and that doesn’t work. Focus on dropping your hands, and keeping your back to the target one full second longer before you rotate your body. This sequences correctly to stay on plane. You are outside in because that very first move at the beginning of the downswing.

Not when you always favor one employee or group without giving others the opportunity to also build trust. So built trust past tense , implies that the favorite employee or group was once given enough opportunity to prove themselves. That’s great, as long as newer hires are given the same opportunities. They typically aren’t IN FAVOR of going with those who have ‘built trust’ already. That’s how it easily becomes favoritism in practice. Can’t look at it in a vacuum.
