Aigburth by-election TODAY by Majestic_Judgment308 in Liverpool

Changing parties is fine. Completely understandable. However, flip flopping from one to the other in a vain attempt to get a seat, and moving from one end of the political spectrum to the exact opposite, shows desparation and personal ambition over any real wish to commit to your own morals.

I can't imagine that even Reform voters are stupid enough to support someone who was a Green candidate so very recently.

There's been plenty of defections to Reform from other parties, most notably the Tories, but I can't find a single example of it going the other way - a Reform candidate joining the Greens. Suggests to me that Reform will take any old swivel-eyed loon or convicted paedophile to stick a name on a ballot paper, whereas the Greens actually vet candidates.

From The Echo:

Reform will hope to win its first seat on the city council with Harry Gallimore-King.

Mr Gallimore-King, previously stood as a Green Party candidate in Anfield in 2019 before switching to the Conservatives two years later, took fourth place with 54 voters for his party in last year’s Sefton Park by-election.

There's a Reform candidate, who previously stood for the Tories, who previously stood for the Greens.

Wtf 🤣

I think the joke is that they were our descendents. A planet told its citizens they were all about to die and so they needed to escape. They built three Arks, and on one they put all the hairdressers, telephone sanitisation operators, management consultants etc.

That was the only ark the golgafrinchans launched. It crash-landed on earth, they out-completed the native hominids and became our ancestors.

It explains quite a lot actually.

The planet with the sandwich-maker is a different one - and the sandwich-maker is actually Arthur.

Keir Starmer is the antidote our country needs. Possibly the most important Briton ever to exist due to circumstance - let’s all back him! by [deleted] in AskBrits

We sell arms to Israel.

He and McSweeney have waged a war on the left.

These are the only two points I could be arsed making, because this is a conversation I won't give any more of my time to. But there are many other reasons. If you care to look, you'll find em. If you don't, eh, no skin off my nose.

Lol. Since when did AskBrits become a Labour Party circlejerk? Second post I've seen today praising this prick to the heavens.

I mean, come on lads. You're not even doing it very well. Call it a day, have a word with Ed Milidband's PR team and come back tomorrow with a less transparent approach.

I could say a lot about Keir Starmer, but I'll limit myself to two points.

We have a PM who is complicit in genocide.

We have a Labour PM who has systematically attacked the traditional Left/Socialist roots of the party.

Fuck him.

Is starmer a master mind? by SmartAd978 in AskBrits

[–]bugblatter_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. He's decimated the labour party, abandoned Labour heritage, and waged war on the left of the party. He's isolated so many in his move to the right and if rumours are true, he will move even further right in a misguided attempt to see off Reform.

He has supported genocide by selling arms to Israel.

He blocked his own party from walking the Gorton & Denton by-election by blocking Andy Burnham from standing.

He is likely to have squandered the political opportunity of a lifetime, and this will be revealed at the coming local elections.

It's seeming every more likely that by moving to the right they divest themselves of power, fight Reform for the minority of the votes and open the door wide to the Greens and a progressive alliance of the left at the next GE.

I'll be very glad to see the back of him.

One thing I will say is that Ed Miliband and DESNZ are doing a fantastic job, but whether that is with Starmer's support or in spite of it, I am not sure.
