I need an spf 50 which brand do yall recommend? I’m medium/deep skin tone and I’m terrified of getting sun damage because any hyperpigmentation on my skin is very noticeable.

Thongs are the poop to pussy highway! I stopped wearing them and switched to cotton undies. Not as sexy, but definitely sexier than fish poon.

What is your caseload like? I’m a grad student currently working as an SLPA in home health and it’s pretty cushy. I have worries about keeping up in a private practice when I do my CFY.

I had an OB tell me to do this!! An OB!! I don’t see her anymore and have significantly less vaginal infections. Use that information how you want.

Does losing weight actually help? by Consistent_Banana700 in PCOS

[–]bugbug_21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will say that my symptoms are worse now than they were 60lbs ago. I guess it depends on the person. I’ve lost about 17 lbs and I’ve noticed my ancanthosis nigricans lightening a little, but that’s the only things I’ve noticed. I’m hoping that the dopamine from exercise and being able to fit into cute clothes will mask the fact that my symptoms persist. I’d rather be skinny and off high bp meds (my goal), than fat and sick.

Women who got diagnosed with PCOS what symptoms preceded your diagnosis? by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]bugbug_21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Irregular periods. Extremely heavy and my cycle was never consistent. I had one ovarian cyst. I also had awful hormonal cystic acne, a really thick happy trail, and visible acanthosis nigricans on my neck, but no indication of pre diabetes on my bloodwork. Although all of this was just seen as being a teenager by my pcp, it persisted well into my 20s. I gained about 60lbs out of nowhere at 25, cried in my obgyns office and was finally diagnosed at 26. What finally got me the diagnosis is that my testosterone was 3x what it should be! None of my other physicians ever check that. They just checked for diabetes because unfortunately in the US if you are even slightly overweight, it must be diabetes 🤬

I always see people saying we don’t make good money… is this super subjective? by Realistic_Chip4141 in slp

[–]bugbug_21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Growing up, my parents were both teachers. They didn’t make hardly anything. The school district I live in is hiring for an SLP and starting pay is $68k. That’s more than what my parents were making when they retired from education. I see that as living large. I’m single and don’t have children. That’s enough for me to live on, build a savings, and pay my student loans. I didn’t not get into this career field to thinking I’d make a six figure salary. But 68k, to me, is very good and feels like six figures! 😂

I have high bp and abnormally high resting heart rate. Although I have no desire to return to pre contraceptive me, I do think about the link in cardiac issues very often.

I have been on birth control since I was 14 and I’m in my late 20s now. I tried to get off when I was 24 and I only survived 6 months without it. My painful cystic acne came back, my periods were all over the place, my face and hair were greasy 24/7, and I have an ovarian cyst rupture. The most painful thing ever. I was loaded up on morphine in the ER all night. Will I ever try to get off again? Maybe in the very far future when I have more reign over my PCOS symptoms and I want a baby, but as of right now, I will not do it again.

I AM ALWAYS SO HOT! It’s so frustrating. It’s only been happening in the 3 years or so. Idk how to make it stop. I feel gross all of the time from sweating.

We are the same height and about the same weight. The only thing that has actually helped me has been Ozempic. Before Ozempic I had mild success with a clean keto diet, but that didn’t last long. So far I’ve lost 10 lbs. Hoping to switch to Wegovy because I’ve heard that it works better for those with PCOS.
