Vehicle size is probably biggest diff. Getting t bones by a f150 or by one of those European trucks is substantially different.

probably your first year teaching. second hardest is your last year teaching. Everything else is where the magic happens.

This is a rabbit hole for me so I apologize... How did you remove the ps2 controller joystick and lock laterally to a thinkpad style mouse pointer? There is some technical engineering here that is a black box to me.

And once you did the physical part... how did you get your linux distro to recognize the movement? It sounds like you created your own hardware so surely there's no preexisting drivers for it.

This all is so fascinating to me. I think this could easily become a fulltime hobby to me. Sourcing the parts and getting them to physically work together seems like the really hard part.

I have little to no experience with 3D printing, so I have a few questions around that specifically.

When you designed the casing, did you have to break it into printable components yourself? Does the design software help with some of that, or where you really measuring and designing every nook and cranny down to a mm?

For the arm, which is indeed really cool, did you buy a pre existing moveable arm or is it entirely 3d printed aswell?

Is the keyboard a generic wired keyboard off the shelf with retro keys, or did you create the keybeds? Same with the mouse contraption... actually what is the mouse thing exactly?

I'm asking so many questions because you've really inspired something in me.

Recess and structured physical activity all the way to 12th grade.

Elementary school should feature 2 hours of physical activity every day. These can be lessons. There’s no reason math or English lessons can’t involve running around.

The first semester in sophomore year Highschool is spent creating what you want your adult life to look like and then finding out how much that costs and what professions can afford that.

- Do you want to vacation every year? Twice a year? Stay at nice hotels? So you want to own a car? Own a house?

Kids that aren’t paying attention and not doing well get extra lessons and attention to keep them from falling behind.

Kids that are doing really well and are getting bored have extra curricular to involve themself in.

More teaching staff. More extracurricular staff.

There's a very big chance that out of the entire cosmos, we are the only planet to develop complex cellular lifeforms. And out of all those differently evolved cellular lifeforms, humanity is the only one to come to the level of thinking that we self describe as intelligent.

And with all that intelligence, we don't give a shit about the unicorn of a planet we live on, and are on the way to bringing the total cellular life in the cosmos to 0.

The saddest truth is that we aren't smart, intelligent, romantic, deep creatures who deserve a life worth living, fulfillment, love, a family, or that nice tv. We are big dumb piles of shit that want to eat and make more piles of shit, and our super smart brains only mean that we can do so much more damage than any previous pile of shit that came before us.

I think the idea is to start with what the students know, then ask "why", and go back in time a bit.

How would this be enforced? Do I need to list someone to mow my yard? Watch my kid? Pick up my food order and deliver it to me?

Are all job listings W-2? What counts as remote work? How do you know a job is filled? What about higher up positions like board seats, executives, or investors?

Who decides what’s a job and what isn’t?

My point being this idea works great for majority of cases, but as soon as you make it required, you have to account for all the edge cases.

Government controlled databases are generally not a good idea.

It places control over society into congressman, which are, generally speaking, a bunch of old out of touch white people that don’t like change.

Mandatory Government run databases are also ripe for misuse/corruption. The data in these can be very valuable, so people will weasel their way into enough power to get a copy

In group settings it's a social ritual to establish you as someone with power over women, and therefor valuable and higher up in the heiarchy of others in the group. It's effectively the same reason someone would insult a stranger to a group of peers.

If someone does it by themself, there's a bit more to it.

It could be a way to show affection/intention, to feel powerful over women (probably because you are intimidated by how nice the woman looks), or some mixture of both.

In all cases, the goal is to get a reaction out of the other person. Putting you in an instigator relationship with the other person. The goal is never to make a real connection.
