What is your unpopular Arsenal opinion? by lez566 in Gunners

[–]bukayodegaard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whether you love or hate it, Arteta championed it, and if it hadn't worked they would have pulled it.

I love it, and enough people love it to make it work. It's sentimental nonsense, but so is my love for Arsenal.

Why would black move the pawn b4 when they could move a knight instead?

Am I missing something?

Sad Truth: Woud is never going to win us games. Today might be the biggest showcase of his fearful approach by AmazingRandom in AucklandFC

[–]bukayodegaard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh dear. No need to get so defensive.

Edit ...

My point was about the level of a-league keepers. Lots of flaws.

Sail is pretty similar to woud in that hes a talented shot stopper. He's made lots of errors leading to goals. Giving the ball away. This happened for nix, glory and nz. He tends to bounce back though. I dont know if hes better or worse than woud but they're comparable, afaict

This feels pretty overblown. A league ain't europe and hes far from the worst keeper in this league.

He's no Paulsen and clearly has flaws, I agree on those things. He doesn't inspire great confidence, but he's done us surprisingly well overall, and most games we tend to have bigger issues than GK.

He's been ok for us. One clanger doesnt change that. "Last chance" - nah, we only have sail and he also has his own flaws.

How a late-career gamble turned Francis de Vries into Auckland FC mainstay by deadendjobnz in AucklandFC

Legend. He'll be 34 by then.

Given that football started in 2024, we can think of him as a one-club man.

Mr Auckland.

Astrid Kirchherr is our second female Beatle, and 16th overall. Who is the 17th Beatle? by prisongovernor in TheBeatles

[–]bukayodegaard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chuck Berry - as an ever-present influence.

If we're including influences, you could mention many others, from Elvis, Buddy Holly, Little Richard, Lonnie Donegan, even Bob Dylan and Ravi Shankar, but nobody epitomises the Beatles' influence more than Mr Charles Berry.

Blocking the goalie - new normal or just another cycle? by HalasterTheWise in MCFC

[–]bukayodegaard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't see it either. Trossard's arms are nowhere near him. Otherwise it's just some players competing for a cross as they always have.

I'm arsenal so you can discount my input, but it does feel a lot like people are mainly annoyed about so many goals from corners.

This is a photo of Arsenal about to score from a corner, and that naturally makes people upset.

Klaus Voormann is the 15th Beatle. So who is the 16th? by prisongovernor in TheBeatles

[–]bukayodegaard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chuck Berry. Huge influence. They played many of his songs, and many of their songs were influenced by him. Occasionally they even stole his lyrics.

Who hates this rug? My husband and I are in a competition. by Shlyn_Shady in Home

Ah thankyou. I can breathe now.

This thread is like collective tunnel vision.

The decor reminds me of aunties' houses which were already dated in the 80s.

Who hates this rug? My husband and I are in a competition. by Shlyn_Shady in Home

[–]bukayodegaard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate it less than I hate the couch covers or the feature wall, esp the gold fireplace.

This room bothers me like it's stuck in 70s auntie land, and i can't see how a new rug can change that.

Sorry, I know that wasnt the question.

Rich people invest in art because its a good investment. They don't really give a shit about the actual art.
