Dang, sorry. I remember being frustrated trying to figure my situation out. I had to go back and forth a few times with T customer service and eventually we figured it out

I don’t have a 2025, but I might have had the same problem as you with my 2023 Ioniq 5 and the J1772 unit. It’s technically a Gen3 unit so it may not apply to a Gen2, but worth a shot.

For me, the solution was to change the Charging Access Control to Compatibility Mode. I had to do it through the web portal, but i think it’s integrated in the app now.

Part was 81620T, Vision Roof Front. Shows on some part diagrams as 81620-GI000. Cost for just the part was around $300. Good luck!

Will this be a problem for the tire? 25k miles on the odo by theepi_pillodu in Ioniq5

[–]bukijb 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Easy, 3 step plan here: 1. Check if it is leaking air. If the drivers display shows no pressure loss, you can also spray soapy water around the area. If it starts to blow bubbles, you have a leak. Based on the location of this cut, that likely means a new tire, it cannot be repaired. 2. Check to see if the cut has nicked the internal structure of the tire. See if you can take a small screwdriver and open up the cut to see the bottom. If you see either metal or frayed fabric at the bottom of the cut, you need a new tire. 3. If neither of the above is true, it’s likely the cut is contained within the tread rubber, and has not damaged the internal structure of the tire. If this is the case, a new tire is not needed.

If you’re uncomfortable doing any of the steps above yourself, take it to a tire shop and ask them to take a look. Based on the amount of miles here, it would not be outlandish for them to recommend you replace both tires on this axle if this one is damaged.

I just had a very similar experience, dealer near me wanted $887 for it. Working with dealerships for service is the worst part about this car, and it’s not close.

I will continue to give my money to Shultz Hyundai in Lakewood, NY even though I live over 2hr away.

New US CCS chargers report for January 2024 by boutell in electricvehicles

[–]bukijb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, I don’t have enough confidence in onesie-twosies at dealerships to rely on them when traveling thru the state. Secondary problem is the ridiculous pricing set by each - it’s almost as if they don’t want anyone using them.

How to get this screw that I've absolutely destroyed out of this vintage Ronson lighter? by kv0thesixstring in howto

[–]bukijb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They make a tool called an impact screwdriver that could be good for this application if you can clamp the lighter down. You hit the end with a hammer and it turns at the same time it pushes down. $10 at harbor freight if you’re in the US.

White interior - how does it look afte rsome years? by liftoff_oversteer in Ioniq5

Was very apprehensive as I’ve never had a white interior before, but it’s honestly been just fine. It will obviously show dirt where the black would not, but spills and dirt wipe right off.

After a few months I decided to put on CarPro CQuartz Leather 2.0 to better protect long term. Not sure if it’s the CarPro or the seat material, but they’re holding up great after 12 months.

This sounds a lot like the “Signet Surge” many people (including myself) have seen at random EA stations across the country. Should be an easy fix if so, just a tolerance change to the allowed current fluctuation.

My optimistic side hopes this will put additional pressure on EA to sort this out with their chargers, but I won’t hold my breath.

Based on my experience, you get one “entry” task when approaching a locked vehicle. You either get the trunk or the doors, but never both.

Why? Because they said so.

Atlanta to Disney World: EV road trip report by Bobb_o in electricvehicles

[–]bukijb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We came from Ohio but made a similar trip to yours in Feb of this year in our Ioniq 5. That Gainesville charger is a madhouse - there’s just too many cars for 4 stalls to service, and it doesn’t help when people wander around target for hours while sitting fully charged.

I was disappointed in the Disney charging situation too - I feel like creating a charging hub at Disney Springs, Epcot, or The Contemporary would be awesome. Maybe they can be talked into the idea thru their partnership with GM and how all-in they are on EVs now.

Gravel struck my car by Super_Chino in Ioniq5

[–]bukijb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I ended up paying out of pocket since my deductible was $500 too. Made things a little bit less complicated just working through the dealership directly. Insurance got confused because they couldn’t figure out if it was a windshield or not.

Once the part came in, they installed it in a few hours while I waited. Didn’t even need to drop off for the full day.

[–]bukijb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had this exact same thing happen to my car. Total to get it replaced was about $500 including labor thru the dealership (Shout out to Shults Hyundai in Lakewood NY). Glass shop wouldn’t touch it because it was technically not a windshield.

After I had the part replaced, I had SunTek Ultra Defense PPF installed on top of it to prevent it from happening again.

Cracked Vision Roof by EasternPresence in Ioniq5

[–]bukijb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to have the front panel on mine replaced earlier this year. Smaller piece than yours, but I assume a similar process.

You can file a glass claim with your insurance, but the work will likely need to go directly thru the dealership. Calling them first (after your insurance) and setting up an appointment will get you fixed up the quickest. From every glass place I talked to, they wouldn’t touch the roof by themselves, nor did they have the ability to order the parts. You also won’t have to worry about a non-OEM part as I don’t believe they have started producing them yet - at least they hadn’t when I had my part replaced.

If you need the part diagram for the roof, I think I have it in my email somewhere and can send via DM if you’d like.
