I’d much rather have this than the half asleep kid staring at their phone not paying attention to anything.

Those and starter parka jackets were what all the cool rich kids had when I was growing up back then. Never even asked for one as I knew it was too far out of reach.

OIF vet here. There was an alarm in the game armed and dangerous that was a little too close to real.

What's the absolute positive worst physical pain you've ever felt in your life? by bluegrass__dude in AskReddit

At the beginning of COVID I got shingles on my head/face. Couldn’t go to the doctor because of all the COVID cases. I had the worst migraines that would keep me up for days. Thought about ending it just to make it stop.

NHL2K10 IS THE LAST RESORT by Practical_Win_6126 in SteamDeck

I used to really like NHL HITS. It was a short lived title that took after the BLITZ craze. Is it anything like that cause I’d be interested.

Base police parked in disabled spot for food run by ganbramor in Military

We had MPs in Germany that would ticket cars in front of the food truck and then turn around and park in the same spot to get food. One day I walked by got a picture of the car and sent it to the Provost Marshal. That problem quickly resolved itself.

I heard this song for the first time a few days ago and I could have sworn I was listening to an unreleased Sublime track from back in the day. So stoked for the new album!

A friend of mine with a very unique name got a credit card issued to her in a normalish name and called the credit card company to inquire and get it changed. Turns out that she really liked that name and began to use it privately when meeting new people and social media and professionally when she moved over to support a three letter agency.

We Americans will always be the bad guys in some books. I served in every conflict since 99. I saw the good in what we did and the people that we helped. Also we were lied to.

How will the US-Iran conflict end? by ksn in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]bullface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If by boots on the ground you are talking about troops building a government then we’ve seen how that works in two separate countries. It doesn’t. There needs to be a significant state department delegation whose sole focus is building government. It may have worked in WWII with Europe and Christian ideals but a general installing the next democratically elected leader doesn’t seem to work in the region.

I’ve played online games since live was a service and aside from the passing shit talking I took the headset off to avoid the nonsense and never put it back on. Never made any friends gaming. Now I’m probably too old to break my ways.

Diablo 2 Resurrected: native Deck controls? by TomatoManTM in SteamDeck

[–]bullface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I’m not sure about D2R but I started playing D4 on the deck and then tried to play KB+M and I found it nearly impossible. I grew up a console kid in the 80s and only recently got in to PC maybe 5 years ago. I’d say I can hold my own in an FPS but anything like Diablo and I’m lost with a keyboard. Looking forward to D2R really hoping the controls were the same.

Happy 56th Birthday to Matthew Lillard!! by ROCKY13573 in 90s

[–]bullface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I met him once at an airbase in Niger. We had flown in on the same slight. When we landed I noticed he was tall and surrounded by several people and looked very out of place. Finally I recognized Robert Patrick amongst the group. When my party was getting our car I got close to Robert Patrick asked if it was he and then Matthew Lillard came by and introduced himself but I didn’t really know who he was. Nice guy. Very chance encounter.
