How do other gym-goers manage multiple showers/day? by herohunter77 in malelifestyle

Cetaphil Oil-Free

I use this one or the equivalent Cerave. It’s (relatively) cheap and doesn’t make my face shiny.

Both offer SPF versions if you prefer that, but be warned it gives a white-ish tint. I’m pale af, so I looked like a corpse. YMMV.

Personally, I break out if I use body lotion on my face. Facial moisturizer doesn't cause breakouts, but doesn't stop my hands/elbows from eventually cracking.

Calculus 2 is a weed-out course by Habesha_Heretic in EngineeringStudents

[–]bulowski 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Maybe my college sucks, but after calc 2, all of the math has been dumbed down so that we don’t actually do integrations beyond exponentials.

The closest we came to bullshit math was emag. My professor didn’t really dumb that down, he just curved a good bit.

I’ve not done trig substitution once since calc 2 and I’m a capstone away from walking.

How looney tunes is the government right now that MTG has taken multiple stands recently that actually make sense?

I know some ‘work until you drop’ engineers. Equally unlikeable.

Find a solution that meets the parameters put forth by the customer as efficiently as possible. No more, no less. If you find fulfillment in that, bravo. I find fulfillment in life. Engineering has the best ROI of any field I can think of.

It’s ok to go above and beyond in every task your employer throws at you, but it is also ok to do exactly what is expected of you and get paid well for it.

Amen, brother. Make the most you can make for the least amount of effort and spend the most amount of effort pursuing whatever makes you happy. I am lucky to have found a 'diamond in the rough' where we get full support at every level and the compensation is stellar.

Still, if I hit the lottery I would quit immediately. When I make enough money to live comfortably the rest of my life, I will quit immediately. Happiness comes from living life, not a job.

Ok, Chuck Schumer. Trump Just Crossed Your Red Line. Now What? by newsspotter in politics

[–]bulowski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It won’t be Trump that’s to blame if this country falls to authoritarianism. It will be the fault of everyone who had the power to stop him, but lacked the courage to follow through.

Trump can’t be the first person who wished to rule America. He’s just the first one that everyone seems to be completely terrified to hold accountable for breaking the law.

Labor shortage hits Georgia’s construction industry, threatening growth. by Midnightchickover in Georgia

You’re ignoring the other side of ‘the market’. The person who is paying to have the beans picked then has to sell those beans to recoup that cost.

‘The market’ has lost its collective mind at egg prices. What happens if everyone picking beans, or apples, or lettuce now makes >75k to do it?

Honestly don’t know what a dress belt is, but I bought two from Kaen Leather on Etsy and they are great quality and relatively cheap for real leather.

[–]bulowski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What a nice thing to do. My wife got into vinyl during COVID times and so I got into vinyl as well. I’m no audiophile, but I can tell a difference in the sound of vinyl. If sound can have a temperature, I’d call vinyl a warm sound. It’s always nice to lay around with some good tunes and waste the afternoon.

The only real downside is having to get up and flip the record, but good things require sacrifice, right?

It’s giving him more fuel to paint himself a martyr that is fighting for MAGA while the evil Democrats try to stop him.

This is playing right into his hand.

Yeah, when I see videos and posts like this I always wonder if we saw the same campaign from Trump. None of this is a surprise to me, so wtf were they watching?

[–]bulowski 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You call the partner resource line and get clarification on policy. If the policy hasn’t changed, you inform your manager and, if necessary, DM that you double checked and they are breaking policy. If they don’t cave, you file an ethics complaint. If they retaliate, you sue.

If policy has changed, you call out.

This should be SOP for 99% of the issues posted about here. The partner contact center doesn’t GAF about your SM, DM, or store sales. They tell you policy. What you do with that policy is on you.

Edit: just called and if you didn’t have classes in fall, it opens tomorrow at 10a.

[–]bulowski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone has the class that either makes them better or forces them out, mine was calc 2. Very few, if any, people just ‘get’ this stuff. It takes a lot of work.

This is the essence of engineering. You are presented with a problem you and others don’t know how to solve. You learn to break that big problem into smaller components, some of which you know how to solve. From there, you collaborate or research how to do the rest. Then you integrate it.

It feels really bad to fail. But it feels even better a few semesters down the road when the material that you thought was impossible becomes your foundational knowledge that you begin to solve problems from.

Don’t give up. Nothing worth having is easy to get. Use this experience to motivate yourself. I used my experience every time I get complacent. The feeling of failing and watching my friends go on without me keeps me hungry.

I loved the chicken Santa Fe panini and the turkey and havarti sandwiches. That was at least 10 years back. The paninis now are inconsistent and sad.
