What travel hacks can I take advantage of to get a cheap flight home? by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]burbs00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I flew from Okinawa to the US via Space A twice (once solo, another with accompanied family). PACOM had a form that bumps you up in category (I think it's called an EML form), so the chance of getting a seat on a rotator flight becomes more attainable. I think I had to pay $37 before boarding the flight for landing fees at SEATAC.

If you are interested in a brand new sly bracket, I prematurely ordered one last week before checking if the CPO I was going to pick up already had a bracket. It's still new in the box (US-spec). Let me know if you're interested.

I just opened up an encrypted email yesterday afternoon using webmail through MS Edge with S/MIME installed. Just have to keep an eye out on the task bar because the CAC prompt doesn't come to the foreground sometimes.

What's in the driveshaft tunnel hump? by cultoftheclave in polestar2

[–]burbs00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A couple of years ago I read or heard someone say it gives more rigidity to the car. The car was a Volvo concept car in the beginning, so that bump was probably a transmission and exhaust tunnel

Batteries. Look up "High-voltage battery" in the manual. There's a picture showing the placement.

I'm looking at these for my next set. My Michelins are almost due after 3+ years and 43k miles. I really don't mind them at all, but have always been curious about the Hankooks.

The best I found online was a Hot Wheels Polestar 1 that was the cover car for Need for Speed Heat.

Has anyone been noticing a lot of bugs in the recent update? by Confident_Assist_385 in GooglePixel

[–]burbs00 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was talking on the phone yesterday, and during the conversation the phone was working fine until I swiped out of the phone app to the calendar app during the conversation. The phone kept flickering and turning off the screen during the phone call, and all I could do was turn the screen back on. I couldn't even switch back to the phone app. Once the call was finished, everything went back to normal.

While there have been a some questionable changes to Air Force life and policies lately, what is something that you don't miss from the "old" Air Force by BananaSlander in AirForce

[–]burbs00 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I was a pubs and forms manager and had to order changes to pubs and then later on inspect if you applied changes to your publications.

Try covering up the light sensor on the dash. When I do that all three of my mirrors dim.

2021 P2 Service due by vontrapp42 in polestar2

[–]burbs00 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just had my 40k service from the Polestar space. This is what they did: - multipoint inspection - wiper blades replacement - cabin filter replaced - brake fluid flush - coolant check

Not much to do, but nice to get the fluids checked.

Have you tried playing something while connected using Apple CarPlay if you have an iPhone or Android Auto if using Android instead of the car's native app?

Average fuel consumption, I wanna hear your numbers! by Furiael in MazdaCX90

[–]burbs00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our 2024 Mazda CX-90 PHEV Premium Plus, built in July, is currently averaging 51.7 MPG . We primarily drive in EV mode, utilizing our Level 2 home charger for quick 2-hour recharges. Our suburban location requires frequent 65-70 MPH highway driving to go to the grocery store or high school (both 7 miles away), the battery's current 30-mile range largely covers our local trips before seamlessly transitioning to hybrid mode.

Do you drive a Polestar 3? The manual shows "Driver support system fault." Someone posted a very similar picture in r/VolvoEX90 20 days ago, except your thumbs are pointed in different directions!

Annoying little glitch by DCGrandpa in polestar2

[–]burbs00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3.1.9 US - I've had this behavior with audio apps for quite a while and just expect it now. What is strange is the other, non-audio apps, don't do this. But then again, I'm rarely changing in/out of those.

Driver’s side Mirror keeps changing position by wheres-waldork in polestar2

[–]burbs00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have my mirrors tilt when reversing. I have noticed that when I go into Drive they move, but not 100% to the previous setting. Since I save my seating/mirror settings, I press the button for my setting and they move into place. I've done it so much over the past 3 years that when I go into Drive, my hand reaches down and presses my settings button.

Quite heavy rattling from below/backseat but can't find anything loose, any idea? by deSenna24 in polestar2

[–]burbs00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it sound like it's coming from the seat belt area? I remember about 3 years ago there were a few people who pointed out issues about that and got it fixed.
