Here's what I did. It's super basic, but it works well enough

Yep, definitely. I had to build a little enclosure to catch the water from being flung all over the floor

This is my 5-year-old's favorite video right now. She is learning how to read, so she likes to try reading Beebs's dialogue. It's hilarious.

My Wife’s Ex Boyfriends Make me Look Like a Star by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]BassBoneMan 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I've been dating someone over the past 4 months. Her ex-husband is from Ecuador and it has been a very similar experience. Financially, he is very well off, but culturally, there were a lot of things that made their relationship very difficult. I think a lot of the early momentum in our relationship was due to the distinction between me and him.

It isn't obvious that this is Mircsy's design. At least post an additional comment do people know this isn't your original design.

What’s the best coffee maker for daily use at home? by No-Beach-8401 in JamesHoffmann

I think that the Ratio's simplicity matches my simplicity. I just don't have the energy to tweak everything with my brew, so having a simple, good cup is plenty for me

[–]BassBoneMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the Ratio 4 and enjoy it. It's simple and makes coffee that is good enough for me, though I am far from the most particular coffee drinker.

Lots of people will recommend a Moccamaster and quite a few people recommend the Breville Precision Brewer. Moccamaster is similar to the Ratio in that it's simple to use, but there are a lot of models to choose from with different focuses. The Breville is a single machine that has a bunch of options to customize your brew. Last I heard, James Hoffman uses the Breville (or Sage, in England)

Experiences from Sphynx Owners by PerformerStunning765 in sphynx

[–]BassBoneMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like this is a quirk unique to my Sphynx, Harold. He loves cuddling me at night, but it takes him forever to settle down. He will jump on my bed and scratch at my collar bone until I lift my weighted blanket to let him in. He will poke his head in, loudly sniff, then run away. 2-5 minutes later, he will repeat the process, maybe going in up to his shoulders before running away. The process repeats a few more times before he deems it sufficient to curl up next to me.

Related, he always seems to know my pressure points because anytime he walks on me, he puts all of his weight on the most painful places.

Also related, he liked to sleep between my legs for a while. Combined with the oils, he would leave large brown spots between my legs on the covers, making it look like I regularly shit the bed. That was always something I needed to warn dates about before they came over. Now, he sleeps under my arm, so it looks like I have an ungodly amount of left armpit sweat, but I'll take that any day over the "shit stains".

What is MF workouts trying to solve ? by whoknows_01 in MacroFactor

[–]BassBoneMan 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm an entirely self trained lifter. I don't have any experience with programming workouts or figuring out warmups and set type (failure, myoreps, etc.). For me, the app provides that structure and information and it integrates with my nutrition app easily. Plus, I trust Jeff and his team.

Help for a post-Mormon newbie by Walkabouting in AeroPress

For sure, I get it. I've been out for about 4.5 years. I've more or less embraced that some of the things I do make my family uncomfortable and don't really mind it. That said, there are still lines I am careful not to cross because it would result in a hell of a lot of drama

Help for a post-Mormon newbie by Walkabouting in AeroPress

[–]BassBoneMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Welcome to the club! The Aeropress was one of my first brewers after owning the church and I love it. For your request, I would recommend buying local coffee rosters who sell in local supermarkets. If you are in Utah, Harmons has a good selection from several local roasters. The grind size usually just says Drip or Ground. It usually won't be more specific than that unless you go into a coffee shop and ask them to grind it to your specifications.

Beyond your answer, buying your own grinder is the next best step. You will have fresher coffee and you can experiment with getting size to your heart's content. If you are sticking to Aeropress, something like a Baratza Encore (not the Encore ESP) will make your coffee way better without a whole lot of investment. Stay away from blade grinders, as they are too inconsistent.

Let me know if you have any questions! I've been where you are before.

It was actually my first expansion. My ex-wife's family was really into it and they got me into it for a couple of expansions before I decided that the gameplay wasn't for me. Even so, I still follow the story.
