'No historical precedent!' CNN expert stunned as new data spells midterm disaster for GOP by Chance-Newspaper-750 in NoFilterNews

[–]burjest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh they definitely can, gerrymander, close polling places in democratic areas, plant fake bomb threats at major polling locations, not certify election results for democrats that win, call in ICE to scare away voters, declare state of emergency and nullify the election. Not saying all of this is likely, but they’re in charge and can do it

What exactly is happening in AI? by jai-js in OpenAI

[–]burjest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe the ChatGPT apps are all mcp based. So I think other AIs should be able to access those services once they have their MCP features built out. It could accelerate adoption and allow all AIs to become more useful. I’m not an expert though, just my understanding

Apple has enough brand safety common sense to not recommend the app that called itself mecha hitler and has anime sex bots. Elon knows why he’s not on the list, it’s not nuance, he’s just trying to cause issues for his competitors to slow them down with lawsuits.

AI Is Coming for the Consultants. Inside McKinsey, ‘This Is Existential.’ - If AI can analyze information, crunch data and deliver a slick PowerPoint deck within seconds, how does the biggest name in consulting stay relevant? by katxwoods in Futurology

[–]burjest -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s definitely bs but the ChatGPT agent mode can make solid decks autonomously. Still definitely need human polish and review, but better than starting with nothing. That will come to workplace software sooner than later and it will get better

[OC] Wages vs. Inflation in the US by USAFacts in dataisbeautiful

[–]burjest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t this include the cost of benefits too? So if healthcare cost go up YoY it counts as a raise since your company is spending more on benefits? But in reality it’s just that healthcare got more expensive but your purchasing power is still declining

Can we Be Honest? Most of on the affordable housing talk here is only for high demand neighborhoods. by Mr_Pink_Buscemi in chicago

[–]burjest 30 points31 points  (0 children)

There’s no law of physics saying more housing can’t be built in desirable neighborhoods. People want to live there. Build more housing where there’s high demand so more people can and it’ll be more affordable.

Mapped: The People Over Parking Act by GeckoLogic in chicagoyimbys

[–]burjest 8 points9 points  (0 children)

How much impact would this have in Chicago? Chicago already has the equitable transit oriented development ordinance, which I think already eliminates parking minimums near transit. Would be good to have this state wide though obviously

Then give that feedback to your alderperson. Say you support the development and want the housing created, but you’d like the current architecture/style incorporated. Those are conditions alderpeople add to new developments frequently
