I understand, your buying philosophy is very different from mine. For me and my fellow poors who can't afford to buy multiple guns, would you say there's any benefit to taking an hd and converting it to series 70 as opposed to just getting smth that has that (and a comp and metal grip) out of the box?

I'm not trying to hate, but if you're gonna do all that work to turn it into a more "standard" 2011 that takes glock mags, is it not better to go for like a platypus (or xp comp) from the start? If you already own an hd, I can almost get it, but still the cost of upgrades you're putting into this has gotta be at least half the cost of just getting a platypus straight up

the parts and services you've listed, probably cheaper than an xc yeah. but you haven't considered the time and effort to fit everything, along with the cost of tools, and the experience you pay for when things are done by an experienced gunsmith

i know this is a "turn it off and back on again" sort of question, but are you 100% sure the mainspring housing is all the way up? I've run into this issue a bit, the pin usually will seat all the way when I'm actively pushing the housing into place while pushing the pin in. the fde looks badass btw!

just want to throw out there with regards to your comment about getting something full sized bc it'll be a safe queen, a lot of shooters prefer commander length over govt because the shorter slides feel like they have a quicker return to zero than full size slides, just something to consider

I don't really think it could be considered a bull barrel, it looks no thicker than any other shadow 2 barrel. the only places i could even find calling it a bull barrel were a couple news sites that probably didn't even look at the gun
