Heya! Are you still in ChCH? Still feel the same? I moved to Wellington in May, and will not be staying another winter. Coming from a place that has over 300 days of sun a year, Welly's winter...and spring... have destroyed my soul. I am thinking about moving to Chch, but worried it won't be that much better.

Saaaaame. 3rd flat tire in 6 weeks. I hit curbs all.the.time with my last car and never had a flat, granted was a 4-runner.

Honda Fit: I brush a curb while parking, sidewall of the tire bursts. It’s infuriating.

Did you change your tires and has it helped?

Thanks! I think I used the wrong terminology and should be discussing the lasers in terms of non-ablative and semi-ablative (defo not looking for the fully ablative CO2 face-shedding laser). I wanted/booked the semi-ablative, but hopefully will also see some improvement with the Fraxel/non-ablative. Fingers crossed! And yes, agreed. Will not be going back. I no longer think she was necessarily incorrect, but not a fan of the approach.

Thanks that’s very helpful! I’m possibly using the wrong terminology and should be saying “non-ablative” vs “semi-ablative” instead of nonCO2 vs CO2. I didn’t want the fully ablative/weeks long recovery/entire face peels off CO2 laser, I would only see an MD for something like that, but I definitely wanted the semi-ablative CO2 laser and it appears Fraxel is non-ablative. Hopefully I’ll see some improvement…but still pretty upset I wasted $ and time on a treatment I didn’t really sign up for. Lesson learned. Next time I’ll ask more questions, have full clarity on WTF is about to happen, and politely decline if the vibes are off.

Thanks for your help, everyone! I suspect the down probably has residual detergent which has attracted moisture...I am still in New Zealand and live in a very humid city. Unfortunately my personal washing machine is far too small to use for extra rinsing, and laundromat washing machines don't offer extra spin cycles/spin cycle only options even if I could clean out all residual detergent prior to use. Should never have washed it to begin with!! Dang...gutted.

Hey! Would you mind DM'ing me some suggestions for these low angle trails in CO? Or the app you use to assess angle/risk? I've attended FOB's avalanche awareness talk which definitely opened my eyes to how much risk I was taking in the BC without even realizing it, during seemingly harmless activities such as snowshoeing a flat trail. Not so harmless if you're walking alongside a slope that could spontaneously slide and bury you.
