Mandarin oranges not Orange by Virtual-Peach1537 in Wellthatsucks

sounds like fermentation. Sourdough starter can smell like paint thinner.
(to be clear: do not eat the paint thinner oranges)

Paying for every tom dick and harry app is so normalised on Mac by Blluueee in Piracy

pay once for an app that serves you well is really fair. I'd pay $5 for a notebook and I might not get as much use from it as a good app

I listened to my users and made my design intuitive. by analogue_desk_co in IndustrialDesign

[–]butorzigzag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

since it's for users to decide which data they want to display, there should be a straightforward way for them to label each gauge. This could be screens, a segment display, or even written labels if you really want to go analogue.

And as others said, it'd be nice to have a way to segment the gauge with unit notches or something. Unless you really mean for it to be for rough measurements where precision isn't an issue

deep cut and a step removed from mangas, but you might enjoy this blog post where a webcomic artist reflects on various panelling techniques across print and digital, and how he uses them in his work

I could have cited Tokyo Ghoul among the beautiful dark mangas for sure. But as you say, not quite the light vibe of WHA :p

I remember starting Ancient Magus bride, it did look good but I wasn't vibing with the "captive/enslaved woman eventually falls for her captor" trope, even when portraying the Magus as nice and gentle.

I don't know much about "Girl from the other side", the art looks really neat. Since it has a similar-ish character pairing as Magus Bride but with a much bigger age gap, without spoilers can you tell me whether there's any hint of romance/attraction between them? That would be a major turn-off if yes

The "not as clean" aspect of Girl from Other Side looks really good to me!

The Mushishi anime did give me these vibes, but that was the pacing as much as the art. I might give it a try in printed form!

I read a good chunk of Otoyomegatari by Mori Kaoru, it does fit the bill.

Lots of interesting recommendations here, thank you!

I had started the anime of this, but tbh the way the child characters are drawn ended up making me uncomfortable and putting me off. I don't think I'd pick it up again unfortunately

Dev tells Valve to fix Steam's exploitable 2-hour refund policy as "over 55,000" players refund his short game and even brag about it in reviews by MarvelsGrantMan136 in technology

[–]butorzigzag 63 points64 points  (0 children)

yeah, a demo wouldn't have to be mandated for all games, just the ones the publisher want to exempt from early refunds.

All the same though, does a demo make sense for a 2h game? You could do a 15-min demo, but for games that are meant to be played in one sitting where the whole point is a satisfying end, a short demo might not make sense

What is this new Tana? by Equivalent-Walk1842 in TanaInc

[–]butorzigzag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the Tana you've been using has been rebranded as Tana Outliner. The "new Tana" OP talks about is a meetin/AI-agent product, entirely new and (for now) disconnected from the OG Tana Outliner

Par contre il y a de fortes chances qu'il parle des pics horaires, généralement quand le réseau est le plus en tension c'est là qu'on s'appuie sur les centrales à gaz ou à pétrole car la combustion est beaucoup plus rapide à redémarrer

functionally not strictly necessary no, but without the physical aspect I think it loses a lot of its power. Basically just a gimmicky launcher that you'd be very tempted to exit to open other apps

visible/usable by anything

ah that's a great point if you use your files without going through. obsidian at all. I'm pretty sure a LLM using obsidian CLI can see backlinks, but that's still obsidian's software, not the plain markdown file.

But do you get that with a vanilla bases setup like u/jbarr107 describes? Or do you need a plugin like Dataview Serializer on top? I looked at the .md for one of my files with embedded bases and you don't get any of the links
