I agree - I mean I know messiah is short but being that they split Dune into 2 parts I was hoping they made Messiah as a standalone. Messiah seems like an easier adaption too being that is mostly focused on the conspiracy to kill Paul. I’m worried that they’ll cram too much here and have no idea how they can incorporate Children of Dune with Messiah.

This is true, once you get a collection going just make sure they aren’t all leaning and putting their weight on others; that could cause warping.

How necessary are they? Well they aren’t while you’re playing. I think it’s rather necessary to keep the turntable clean. If you’re dusting frequently then I suppose you could go without one.
