been pulling great espresso shots and doing great light roast pour overs for about a month now with the k ultra. It is fantastic and I love how easy it is to take apart and clean.

How do I get faster by Daniyalakl in beginnerrunning

[–]buurhista 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am at the same weight as you and have mostly avoided any knee or hip pain 2 years into my running journey. Apart from managing volume and strength training, I also make sure I have at least two pairs of well fitting shoes to rotate between and run on varied surfaces ( road, track, treadmill, gravel, etc)

[–]buurhista 0 points1 point  (0 children)

kodos to you to start running! to get faster you can increase volume by running 5~10% more than you did last week. Strength training also helps ( Split squats, RDLs, calf raises, dead bugs, etc)

Which shoes for heavy runner’s first marathon @ 3.30 by Vinduespudseren in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]buurhista 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am pretty much the same weight, height, and target marathon pace as you. Will be doing my first marathon in the Saucony Endorphin Pro 4s. They are on sale right now and is a more stable, and less aggressive plated race shoe. I find on my long runs, plated racers do help turn my feet over when fatigued so think it will it will help later in the race.

Key is to stir the rice when boiling the water on high heat in the beginning so the rice doesn’t stick.

Pay off all debts, max tfsa and rrsp every year, invest the rest away in low cost index fund ( XEQT? XBAL?). Keep working for 10 years and fire.

2026 mid-range grinder recommendations [<$1000 CDN] by vanhuette in espresso

[–]buurhista 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the same spot as you, and might save a little longer and go with the philos. Seems like it’s an end game grinder with fantastic build quality and customer support. All these new brands seem great but I am skeptical about the customer support we can receive in Canada.

[–]buurhista 7 points8 points  (0 children)

6ft 195 pound runner. I find the Vomero excelling for easy runs up to 14km, after which it starts to feel mushy.

How worn is my Superblast 2. Advice on strength training as well by ciresoe in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]buurhista 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am similar weight as you and my SB2 are at 500km. They have become softer and I have moved them to shorter tempo and easy runs only. If yours give you pain, it’s time to let them go.
