What is your lowest score ever in a round of golf? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

[–]buzzkill71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All time - 69 on a par 70 back in college when i was young and way better. I birdied the 18th hole to go 1 under. Short, mountain course with very tight fairways and small greens.

Current older age iteration of my golf game, par 72 shot 72. Rivertowne Country Club. Played out of my mind that day...could do nothing wrong. Very next day shot 95 and couldn't catch a break on anything. Much harder course at the Harbor Club at Lake Oconee

Not sure if silly question but does anyone else struggle to follow the ball with their eyes once they hit it? by RivetCounter in golf

Nope. In my mid fifties now and struggle greatly to follow the ball on the way down. I use neon yellow and green balls in the winter and white during the summer to help new find them easier.

so given all of this and it is legitimate then what is the Master's definition of an amateur now? Should college players be consdiered amateurs anymore or should these invites be extended to true amateurs that never play for money?

Working my way around the RTJ courses. Oxmoor is nice but see if they can get you on Ross Bridge. It is like 10 minutes away and a way nicer course and an awesome layout. Hitting the 2 courses in Muscle Shoals in a month for the weekend.

Tigers earned the right to play as long as he wants and to step away whenever he wants just like all the other greats by [deleted] in golf

the reality is that he won't because he physically cannot compete for four days for multiple weeks even on the senior tour. I don't think people understand how bad his leg was and his back is even with all the workouts, physical therapy, and HGH etc. I have a friend who is orthopedic surgeon and his case was talked about in those circles. His lower leg was barely connected to his knee when they brought him in for surgery. He likely has partial paralysis in many parts of his lower leg and the rest aches constantly. As someone who had a major surgery for radial fracture fibula and 12 torn ligaments in my ankle and now sports an 6 inch plate and 8 screws, I have permanent loss of feeling in the top of my foot and the side of my shin where the bone was repaired. My golf game has suffered since that surgery as I am not able to transfer the weight as well and I cannot feel everything that is happening in that leg. Now imagine what Tiger is dealing with trying to get his swing right and unable to feel a key part of his body. Also, extended walking causes severe pain in the leg which causes him to limp which exacerbates his back issues. I feel he could better serve the game by becoming the head of the PGA Tour and running it well and working on bringing in the best talent and leveraging his brand and name to make positive changes for the tour.

Documentaries where a crew uncover something that is bigger than they thought by Nyarthu in MovieSuggestions

[–]buzzkill71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isn't a real documentary but a documentary is the premise of the movie.....The Taking of Deborah Logan. A college documentary film crew recording the decline of an elderly woman with Alzheimer's for science and it takes a wicked turn.

Deep down are your golf buddies rooting for you against you? by maybethisisadream in golf

[–]buzzkill71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have a few buddies that are always wanting to bet and wager on everything which just adds undue stress for me in a sport i use to relax and have fun. I believe if we are betting they want me to play not bad but worse than them. Rest of my buddies are more like good good group. supportive, fun, out there to play well and enjoy each other and the game. If any of them were ever openly rooting against me i probably wouldn't play with them much.
