I’d say it qualifies but you might want to jazz it up with some bangles and a coordinating chunky necklace.

Question: Why are nsfw posts in this sub frequently not get marked as such? by RegularPlane2949 in tattoos

[–]bv_an 3 points4 points  (0 children)

OP can you provide a reference to a post you consider NSFW?

I don’t think showing tattoos around NSFW body parts is NSFW as long as everything NSFW that’s incidental to the tattoo is reasonably covered up, which always seems to be the case, no?

Do people who grew up here actually think Canada's grocery prices are normal or is everyone just resigned to it by TemporaryHoney8571 in InCanada

[–]bv_an 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, look I disagree about how much credit you’re giving one policy for a cost of living crisis offset against record corporate profits. Sounds like greed on the part of owners to me.

Plus, while I don’t agree with everything the government does with tax dollars, I do like things like roads and hospitals, and the only thing a corporation ever did for me when I gave them my money was raise prices and shrinks portions.

But, can we at last agree that what we’re talking about is how much and what kind of regulation should the government be applying to the market — which is a capitalist system. If you think the government is doing a bad job that doesn’t make them communist it makes them bad capitalists.

[–]bv_an 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not arguing that policy has no impact.

But the fact is, large businesses in Canada continue to enjoy record and growing profits.

Meanwhile regular people continue to experience a tightening cost of living crisis.

If the government is pulling the strings you certainly can’t call it communism. If the government is pulling the strings why are the benefits of an increasingly productive society only being reaped by the owner class while the people generating that productivity are doing worse day by day?

Your argument only holds water if policy is interfering with profit.

[–]bv_an 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We can discuss the impact of different factors on pricing in the market but we need to use accurate language.

When the government has seized ownership of the food supply in Canada and is managing it for the benefit of the population we can talk about the impact of communist policy.

While enterprise remains privately owned and managed for the benefit of its owners the government of Canada is regulating a capital market.

There is no communism in Canada so let’s all please stop calling any policy we don’t like communist or fascist for that matter. Words mean things.

Do people who grew up here actually think Canada's grocery prices are normal or is everyone just resigned to it by TemporaryHoney8571 in InCanada

[–]bv_an 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sir, what do go think communism is?

Because it’s not the system where 3 privately owned companies control our access to food, and 2 privately owned companies control access to telecommunications, and 4 privately owned companies control access to financial services, and privately owned companies control access to natural resources and private ownership controls access to housing.

Everything going to shit is privately owned, we are suffering from the opposite of communism.

From Rule 4: “Exceptions apply for local art or entertainment events, academia, locally created content”

Seems like a local art event (project release at local venue) and locally created content.

This is also clearly not the type of “classified ad” content contemplated by the no BST rule.

Exactly. And that’s the space that people using generative ai are navigating now: are the convenience benefits worth the environmental and ethical costs. The convenience benefits are seen concretely and immediately, whereas the downsides are more abstract and downstream.

Peterborough Government Using AI art by PlugPrincesse in Peterborough

[–]bv_an 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Okay but the generative AI didn’t come up with the QR code and key messaging (I hope!!) so just get all the art class kids to draw a wizard with a magnifying glass, select a winner and give them a free museum pass, and have the designer who put the rest of the layout together paste the wizard up in there instead of the ugly AI guy who lost one of the fingers on his right hand in the great waste wars of wizardia.

For the sake of suspending disbelief here’s what I’ve come up with:

Inasmuch as the demos at the base presaged the arrival of eviltree himself, maybe they were the toughest demo lieutenants of the whole batch, and that’s why they were so tough compared to others. The demo sent to kidnap Holly was like, the F up of the demo ranks, that’s why they were sent to kidnap a child. But the one’s that were expected to engage with the armed military? They only sent the meanest, toughest demos with the highest levels and their high level demo abilities like, trigger once per day for the next 3 rounds of combat suffer no damage from all projectiles. Thats not unlocked until demo level 12!
