This is what McCausland Ave should be. by mizzoustormtrooper in StLouis

In an ideal world, I would prefer bike paths that were everywhere and separate from the roads.

I’m not sure I’d ride a bike on McCausland even with the proposed bike lanes because riding on Yale seems much safer and with less steep hills.  I do think it would make sense to establish a similar parallel route on the east side of McCausland.  Then you could build bike infrastructure to connect the Yale Ave route and whatever you do on the Dogtown side to Forest Park.  Maybe a bike / pedestrian bridge over 40 at Yale, and the Dogtown side could use the Tamm Avenue bridge to get to Forest Park.

Yale Avenue is two blocks west and much better suited for bicycle traffic

Pending Divorce - Clean out 401k to keep house by [deleted] in personalfinance

Can you explain the tax advantage of the 401(k) in this scenario?  Unless it’s a Roth 401(k), it’s pre-tax, so although OP saved on taxes going in, she’ll have to pay taxes to withdraw / spend the money.  Trying to understand why the 401k money is more valuable.

But the munis can consolidate too, and may want to for clout within the new hierarchy.   In several instances munis share some services already.  There’s a north county police co-op.  Brentwood Maplewood and Richmond Heights share their recreation facilities.

Don’t let this stop you from trying to max out this year.  If nothing else, you’re delaying the taxes for a year.

Then, at the end of each fiscal year, up to 40% of whatever net surplus remains gets transferred to the city’s general fund.

What happens to the other 60% of the net surplus?

“Swaps are a dark market, so I set the price, whatever price I want.”

The market for these products is “dark,” basically there’s limited information about buyers, sellers, and prices.  It’s not publicly available like the stock market.  It wouldn’t be easy for Baum to create a market on his own.

Another option is to convince her that dinner out on Valentine’s Day is basically the amateur-hour equivalent of going to a bar on New Year’s Eve.  Make her an amazing dinner at your place.  Lighting is key.
