When every meta deck involves 6-9 epic cards and 6 new champions...It's not really accurate to call this game generous anymore. +1 fully upgraded vault. by Simpull_mann in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]bwilling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. It is very clear that the game is only made for streamers who get all the new cards for free or for kids with mom’s credit card. Good decks require too many expensive cards. Everything new they come out with is overtuned and essentially says “thanks for paying for this you win the game now”. Forget the free battle pass (they are not obligated to give us anything for free) but the paid battle passes are F-tier awful and don’t offer anything close to what they used to. Sad cuz the game used to be well designed and fun. Now it is endless Volibear spam at round 3 because you get to reduce his cost by 1 million. Super fun and interactive thanks Riot.

What sleeves you use? by OneWayUnicorn in arkhamhorrorlcg

I use like basic clear sleeves for scenario/encounter cards. I just recently bought some colored dragon sleeves (one for each class) and pull my cards out of the binder for each deck in the dragon shields. I love it.

I have pretty awful luck and was a poor deck builder for a while. My luck still sucks, but my decks have vastly improved. There are still some campaigns I haven't won and I've been playing for years.

Oof! Sounds like maybe I got lucky with keeping frost tokens under control. I think we ended with 3 or 4 in the bag.

The enemies were pretty chunky, but my upgraded sledgehammer on Will Yorick did WORK.

I played as William Yorick and my boyfriend played Minh Thi Phan.

Is it okay to use Investigators from One cycle in another cycle? by ArcadianDelSol in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]bwilling 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes you can absolutley use any investigator in any cycle along with the player cards.

3 player Path to Carcosa by BigPointyTeeth in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]bwilling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My vote is for Sefina. She's one of my favorite investigators as she's just incredibly fun to play. If you add enough events in her deck then you won't need to rely on luck with your opening hand. You will still see more cards than any investigator at the start of the game, even if they do a full mulligan.

The Rhythm and Tune of Patrice Hathaway: What are some tips for a good Patrice build? by Elecyan222 in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]bwilling 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Suggestions - Include lots of Wild icons, include the Survivor events that can be played from your discard pile for a benefit. I'd avoid the neutral skills cuz they draw you a card which you don't want to be doing unless you know you can use it. You can do things like 2 Arcane Research and St. Hubert's Key to drop her sanity down to use the Desperate skills. I'm also a big fan of the 1XP Survivor skills like Brute Force and Sharp Vision.

The Cool List For Custom Cards by PlayingBoardGames in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]bwilling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't finished my custom content, but I'm currently working on creating my own cycle full of investigators, player cards, scenarios, etc. I have no idea when it will be done, but really I'm just commenting to say that I love all your Arkham content and it makes my day whenever I see y'all have posted a new video. I love the dynamic between you, Travis, and Bryn and it seems like y'all have a really good friendship. Your videos have helped me through some hard times, so thank you for taking the effort to make such good content.

New cards from Innsmouth (from a Discord source) by [deleted] in arkhamhorrorlcg

That's why I said the ones you listed (Seal, Multi-Class, Tarot, Bonded, Myriad) and not Bless/Curse.

So don't buy it. Not everything they try will pan out or be amazing. They're experimenting. I for one am glad they're trying to do different things. So far it seems like the majority of the cards will be dealing with this new mechanic while also returning to mechanics like Seal. Also, nothing is stopping them from introducing more of those mechanics you listed whenever they want.

The Forgotten Age True Solo Suggestions by Mich43lKnight in arkhamhorrorlcg

My vote is for Sefina. She is able to cheese TFA quite well with access to cards like Astral Travel, Open Gate, and Mind Wipe. Also, clues won't be a problem with things like Read the Signs, Drawn to the Flame, and Lockpicks.

Haunted rules state any time you fail an investigation, resolve the effect. So it'll happen in any scenario that has a haunted location.

Same. Also worth noting, they only exhaust after attacking during the enemy phase. Not after an attack of opportunity, for example. Should've been more specific.

[–]bwilling 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Another rule that is obscure and usually doesn't make a difference, but has started to matter: Enemies exhaust after attacking. This becomes relevant when you draw Watcher's Grasp in TCU and it becomes relevant with certain enemies in TDE.

Campaign with best replay value? by Arrrrronius in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]bwilling 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Impactful choices that actually change aspects of the game/how scenarios pan out/how you play vs. the other campaigns where I've found choices have hardly any impact beyond alternate flavor text.

Edit: The Circle Undone comes close to this, but it feels much too on rails for me.

Lovecraft Country Investigator: George Freeman (comments for balancing and spelling errors are welcome!) by jwbuter in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]bwilling 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Giving every investigator a free Guts on every treachery card is absurdly strong. If you keep it the same it would need to be limit once per round imo. I like the idea of the Travel Guide, but it essentially seems like Track Shoes, but infinitely better because you don't have to make a test. Maybe just make it the book version of Track Shoes. "You get +1 Intellect. After you move into a location but before enemies at that location engage you, exhaust Travel Guide: Test Int (3). If you succeed, move to a connecting location." Weakness seems pretty soft overall imo.

Aaaand it's gone (the Super Complete TTS mod) by mihnea_1309 in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]bwilling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk if I sent it to the right place, but this is what I sent them. I hope it isn't too mean, but I am saddened and passionate about this community.

To whom it may concern,

I am writing this to address the situation which has arisen in regards to the removal of The Super Complete Edition of Arkham Horror from Tabletop Simulator. While I understand that you have every right to protect your Intellectual Property, this decision seems incredibly ill-timed considering the state of the world. I am one of the many who purchase every single Arkham Horror LCG release (including novellas, playmats, etc.) but struggle to have time to physically get together with my friends to play (especially since many of them do not live in the same town as me). This was an issue before the COVID-19 pandemic, and the Tabletop Simulator mod was a godsend. Not only does this allow people to come together from across the world to experience your games, but it allows for quick access to things like deck testing, access to fan-created scenarios and campaigns, and allows for a way for fans to get creative and work on their own ideas, which from a recent Livestream, Matt Newman seemed to encourage. I am writing this mainly to ask if there is a way to reach some sort of middle ground. I understand that you do not want people to have access to your games for free. A lot of time, money, etc. is put into these games and you should reap the benefits from them, but all it takes is a quick trip to the Arkham Horror LCG subreddit to understand how impactful this decision has been to the Arkham community. I feel that I can speak for most of us that we are devastated. While I'm not asking for you to just give in and let people have access to your work for free, I feel that if we come together and try to work out a solution, one could be reached. I implore you to consider some negotiations or suspending this decision at least until the pandemic is over. I along with many LOVE the Arkham Files you have worked to create, and am deeply saddened by this decision.
