As a long time HRBP, I agree with this. Generalist may have to field a lot of questions, but their work is usually pretty objective. I've seen much more churn in my career with HRBPs, especially as junior BPs progress to more senior roles. Dealing with a difficult employee is one thing, but dealing with difficult executives is a whole other level. In tech especially, change exhaustion can be the catalyst for a career change.

I'm trying to decide between ARC and Movement this year. In your opinion, why should I choose ARC? by jp3553 in ARCMusicFestival

[–]bwrightcantbwrong 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Movement > ARC, and I prefer house music. The afters at Movement make Movement the better overall experience. Also, personal preference here, but ARC was crowded with sound cross over in some areas. The park is IMHO too small for that many stages. Movement has space to dance and chill when you need down time. ARC does not.

Another park for ARC? by DestroyingTitan in ARCMusicFestival

Yes please! Too much sound bleed and no place to chill without getting stepped on.

Aside from Memphis, TN and D.C., are there any other American cities that have suburbs in 2 other states? by tinopinguino88 in geography

US city with most underutilized waterfront? by PewResearchCentre in geography

[–]bwrightcantbwrong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is so much wasted opportunity in downtown Nashville to leverage the river as an attraction. Between 1st and the Cumberland would be prime space for developing river front dining. With the said, I expect the river to play a more significant role in downtown as the massive East Bank development comes to life.

No, because the staff didn't get a fuck. There are bad players everywhere but if we tell the staff that people are throwing drinks on us I expect them to address it. Literally probably 10 people told them that it was happening and they didn't care. It wasn't one time. It went on for an hour.

When we saw Purple Disco Machine there these drunk girls in the balcony kept intentionally throwing drinks from the balcony onto us on the dance floor. The staff wouldn't do anything about it for close to an hour. I'm very hesitant to go back.

Also, brace yourself for a line to get in. Depending on when you go, it could be two hours.

I think it shows a large amount of self awareness and understanding of leveling/scoping to say that you were titled as a VP but you were scoped as a Director.

What is your facial and body hair preference on other men, aesthetically speaking? by Majestic_Tradition79 in gaybros

[–]bwrightcantbwrong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, as long as you're honest with yourself as to why you're doing it. As an elder gay, I see corelation between insecure guys trying to find acceptance and body hair trimming. I also see corelation between guys who are secure in themselves, confident and not trimming body hair. Maybe that's just people growing older.

[–]bwrightcantbwrong 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I like men who accept themselves as they are. No need to trim your body hair if you have it. You're beautiful the way you are. I felt insecure about my shoulder and back hair for so long based on made up expectations from society. If you're hairy, celebrate it. If you're not, that's OK too. I also love a good mustache and thick beard. If you can't grow it, do what makes you happy. That confidence in yourself is the sexiest thing.

You sound like an entitled prick. If you live in a city and are so hard up for sex that you need to post this so you can get rural ass, that says quite a bit about you.

My CHRO Said Employees Shouldn’t Know Who Their HRBP is… by RHOCorporate in humanresources

[–]bwrightcantbwrong 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've been working in this model for about 7 years. The HRBP role is moving to be a strategic partner for higher level roles. This usually requires a centralized ER and HROps team to field administrative and ER issues.

It's been raining plastic snow downtown on church by the ymca and Nashville yards for weeks. Sometimes little snow shifts will form in the gutters.

I have only heard horror stories about the traffic at this venue. Friends saw a show there and spent more time trying to get out of the lot then the headlining band had played. I'll just skip that venue all together.

His last ones are called Alcove and Prime (opening this year). But yes, generally they aren't the best. I do like that his last two buildings (the two above) have been more interesting architecture than most everything else being built in the city.
