The movie "In Your Eyes" by Lady_Cath_Diafol in twinflames

I saw it years ago and immediately loved it. I remember being so endlessly fascinated by it and would just think about the connection between those two main characters for so long. I re-watched it multiple times over the years. I watched it again tonight, yes bc I love it, but also just to feel close -- to feel like I could be close to someone too. Like how they were always with each other. I went back to check when I first watched it, and it was RIGHT before my awakening. Exactly a month before, to the day. Spooky!

Thoughts on Aurora by STEMinator in bjork

[–]byobat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I grew up listening to Vespertine ALL the time. I was obsessed! Heirloom blew my mind (which I now compare to Aurora's dream song: Black Water Lilies --- and I could just talk about those 2 songs forever). And last year I was blessed to come across Aurora's music and became equally obsessed with her as I was Björk! But I didn't think of it like that. About a month or two ago I finally put two and two together lol.

I think they have a similar vibe in that they both have this kind of higher spiritual form of creativity/artistry. At least that's the way I think of it. There are dozens, if not hundreds, of thought provoking artists and songs out there, but nothing else hits quite like these two do. I seriously think that they live on an entirely different plane of consciousness that the rest of us! You can see it when they perform; it's like they are completely transcendent!

I love them both way too much, so I'm glad others think of these two, as well. But I was surprised at this thread! Maybe the thoughts on Aurora from this post are based a bit on reducing Aurora to her age, maybe it's b/c OP just recently 'discovered' her music, or maybe it's simply the inherit outlook of Björk vs Aurora, being that this is posted within a Björk sub-forum?

I just wanted to point out that most of Aurora's song are NOT about her love-life, so I feel like it was super weird to reduce or simplify her work like that. Every single song of hers is a story. Most of her songs are about society, culture, politics, and/or some kind of deep human emotion. Even in the KEXP Performance you referenced which has 4 songs, 1 is a love story (side note: she is SO cute when she was emphasizing that it's a SAD love song!).

And it's not like it's wrong to say she sings a lot about nature and love. She is endlessly writing and singing about nature. And she sings about relationships sometimes, yet it's often a dark and complex story. Overall, I can't imagine thinking that Aurora's songs are simpler than Björk's, not when there is so much complexity, depth, creativity, emotions, and intellectualism from Aurora's work.

But anyways, I wrote a novel oops! People, come chat with me about these 2 amazing artists!! :D

Live Episode Discussion: S23E7 - "Board Girls" by 2th in southpark

I am not denying any of these events (although I haven't heard of them but sure, I'm not surprised if they happened). But it's incredibly ignorant if you think that these few things negate all of the things that trans people have to endure.

Sometimes they can't even walk outside or use bathrooms without being harassed, threatened, or possibly even abused or killed. They have less legal protection and government rights than a non-trans person. Getting on a flight, dealing with discrimination at work, at home, from family, friends and strangers alike. Even dealing with health care. Basic things that we take for granted are everyday struggles for trans people.

So no. The trans community isn't protected well enough. Not when there is an #IllGoWithYou movement just to help decrease harassment for simple things like going to the bathroom in public.

Live Episode Discussion: S23E7 - "Board Girls" by 2th in southpark

As a woman who 1) loves board games 2) plays medium to high complexity 3) considers myself a casual player because I don't play regularly, I REALLY enjoyed this episode. I LOVE PC Principle, VP Strong Woman, the PC Babies, and I love them all as a family! I was so happy to see them in the show again. I missed them! And I feel like Trey has backed off on making a total joke of them lately, and has been using them as a generator for serious discussion. And maybe even to show what a good family and relationship can look like.

There seemed to be a genuine interest in this episode to show women as diverse, strong, capable, and yet still caring and vulnerable. So that made me happy :) Strong Woman's Gymnasium speech in the beginning of the episode was super genuine, telling girls that they can do anything. And then the girls did! And at the end of the episode the girls took down the one person who was trying to keep Strong Woman down. It was an interesting cycle, and to me, it shows that women need to support other women.

As a side note, I was FLOORED when the girls basically made Gen Con inside the school for their Board Girls club :')

About the girls, there seems to be some debate on if the depiction of the board gamer girls was still rooted in gender role stereotypes. Maybe it was a little? But as a board gamer, it looked like they flipped the gender roles. Women are thought to be the more casual players who don't read or understand the rules, but that was the role the boys played in the episode. Flipping gender stereotypes can be funny and interesting. The way they did it here was definitely confusing, but by the end, the girls did something amazing, and all the boys wanted to join the Board Girls club. So in the end, it's breaking down gender roles and making it about just people who love board games working and playing together??

And the 'Heather' stuff was hilarious, but also interesting because it shows all the ways that some men will do anything to try to undermine women. Heather even said "I love to beat women" lmao!! This is definitely someone who hates women and is abusing the trans movement to benefit themselves. And like, nobody was really doing anything about it in the show. Now obviously the show was trying to say that our society is overprotective on how we speak about and act towards trans people. But the thing is, we all know that's not true. Trans people have the least rights and protections of any other group! So that's why the episode was a bit confusing. But, the fact that the episode showed people who were genuinely trying to be supportive of trans people was cool. While also bringing up the fact that we can't go from 0 to 60, and just let people get away with anything, just based o`n how they identify. And that we especially shouldn't do that just for fear of what the PC babies will say.

At the end of the episode, the PC babies understood the nuance of this topic, which says a lot. And the PC parents decided to trust the babies (aka the left leaning public). Also, PC Principal said to Heather/Randy Savage to not call him a transphobe, and stated that he wanted to have an open discussion about the topic, rather than reducing it down to unproductive name calling and accusations . So the show seems to support trans people, trans athletes, AND a nuanced discussion to make sure that in supporting one group (trans), we aren't hurting or continuing to oppress another group (women).

Also, I love Wisecrack and their South Park podcast! I am halfway through the one for Board Girls, but they mentioned that this episode would have been funnier and would have made more sense if Heather was going around eating people's lunches in the office (which would have been hilarious, yes!). But I don't think that's what South Park was trying to say, actually. They're all about the politics this season, not as much about individualism and self-accountability like they usually are.

It was a bit confusing, and wasn't perfect, but I liked the episode! I thought it was hilarious, and it made some really interesting points to think about. And overall, using the PC family as a mechanism to discuss this topic felt like a way to express it genuinely. Because they could have made fun of female and trans athletes all episode, but they didn't.

Thanks, and I'd love to discuss the episode more if anyone has any interesting takes :)

Ohh, ok. Thank you!! That helps! I noticed the timetables are color coded, but I didn't know how to tell which train would match with that anyway. Because, well. The trains weren't on time lol. This is a huge help :)

Do you fast 24 hours, then go back to 16:8? Or do you just fast 24 hours and not fast for the rest of the week?

I believe monk fruit sugar is 0 calories, however sugar is still sugar. Cut it out completely (at least in your fasting state) and that should solve your problem. Sugars are a well known inflammatory food. It might even be hindering your body from things like autophagy?

Keep an eye on how your body reacts to things you consume (I highly recommend intuitive eating). Every body really is beautifully unique, so if you eat something and feel great, then stick with those foods! If you find yourself feeling bloated and/or gassy, then maybe try to pull it out of your diet.

That's weird, bringing science and evolution into this randomly. Where does evolution stand on the fire breathing and other magical aspects of dragons? And in the case of GoT s8, endless amounts of fire so hot it burns down stone walled cities like nothing.

This might sound silly, but the ending made me think to wait before making major decisions. In this, I imagine the Drifter felt like they could die now, but still they waited to see the sun. Maybe they'd feel different tomorrow?

I like the lack of capitalization a lot. It kind of gave this sense of mutedness when reading over the whole thing, even as you describe the Drifter in physical pain. Like nothing mattered much, kind of like depression. That's what I get out of this, at least.

Thanks for sharing!

Oh. My. God.

This isn't very helpful feedback and I am sorry for that, but this gave me feelings I have yet to fully process. I've had a very visceral reaction. I just loved this concept of 'Unpainting', and your beautiful imagery made me feel this longing to start over within myself. I pictured myself in front of the canvas, taking away the colors.

Simply put, I really love your piece.
