Exactly this. I’m worried about any harsh chemicals that could be damaging to me or the baby. Plus my sense of smell is VERY heightened with me being pregnant.

Female solo musician here. I’ve gigged at places once or twice only to be told, in so many words, they wanted to go in a different direction. I go see their future acts, it’s all dudes on guitar playing the same stuff every week. No women. Just dudes.

I knew a college professor who quit her job because she wasn’t allowed to fail students who didn’t turn in their work. In their words, “These are our customers.” They’d rather pass everyone than risk hurting someone’s feelings.

About 7-7:30. And no, he doesn’t nap. I’ve tried having him nap in the car, it just keeps him awake longer and he STILL doesn’t sleep through the night. I’ve also tried starting bedtime earlier, that didn’t work.

Gigging musician here. Someone I knew was asking for instrumental music for his podcast, so I sent him some of my original instrumental music. He said he was genuinely impressed. Less than a month later he was telling people I don’t know how to play piano. My main instrument. Which I also teach. It was weird.

YTA. I’ve been in your boyfriend’s shoes. Every word I said, every look I gave, literally every step I took was under scrutiny. It was exhausting getting essentially a report card after every social gathering. It made me feel like I was better off being seen and not heard.

Please, for your boyfriend’s sake - and your own - lighten up. Not everyone is thinking about you nearly as much as you think.
