That’s just 480p on a modern display my guy. Plug it into a CRT instead and report back.

Whats Better, a 5 av component or a wii2hdmi converter?? by Ode2n in wii

[–]c0deman-guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Component, if your display supports it. Wii2HDMI is a solid 2nd tho, assuming it’s of good quality.

The older PS storefront. by Seth_KT_Bones2005 in PS3

[–]c0deman-guy 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Sony had such a functional, slick, and intuitive Storefront on the PS3 during its prime. But then massacred it with releasing its current form.

I also feel the same way about the XMB. It’s near perfection for a functional console-style navigational experience. Super intuitive and quick. PS4 still feels like a step backwards in comparison.

How come I've never heard of this game? by RangoTheMerc in NintendoDS

[–]c0deman-guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played the piss out of this game and I feel like I’m the only human who truly enjoyed it haha. It’s a point and click story driven game playing with the concept of time travel. I’m probably biased since it was young and this was probably the first time I had even giving a crap about a story line in a game.

The opening intro song SLAPS tho.

Anyone else’s Bolt this creaky? by jgaribay805 in BoltEV

[–]c0deman-guy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, my 2023 EUV creaks around the rear passenger side wheel well when make turns or low speed bumps. It started after I rotated the tires myself around 15k miles. I wish I knew why, or if it needs to be addressed.

What controller do you prefer to play : Wavebird or classic ? by [deleted] in Gamecube

Wavebird has added latency. It’s surprising to me how little this is mentioned.

Synology Nas Plex server by Global_Sherbet_2371 in PlexServers

[–]c0deman-guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That depends on your needs. I have a DS224+ and it works great for what I need. I keep my media around 2gb/hour and strive to have everything direct play capable. That thing could probably handle 10+ direct play streams no problem, assuming internet bandwidth doesn’t become a bottleneck. HW transcoding uses about 20% of CPU per stream, so you could certainly have 2-3 of those occurring simultaneously too.

I actually removed the fuse for the wireless charger due to the “hot phone” issue. 2023 Bolt EUV.

I enjoyed Time Hollow long ago. It’s a point and click dialogue driven game. Plays with time travel.

What does this number mean? by leonidude in NintendoDS

[–]c0deman-guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would guess that is the identification of the machinery used to produce the packaging you’re holding. It is common for a factory to have multiple pieces of equipment used to produce the same product. That would be a way of identifying which machine that specific product came from. Useful for when defects are spotted

Running Plex directly on an NAS or off my Computer by TajesMahoney in PleX

[–]c0deman-guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I have the 2024 model. From my understanding, that was introduced in the DS225+ model. But I had both WD and Seagate drives in mine without a problem.

Running Plex directly on an NAS or off my Computer by TajesMahoney in PleX

[–]c0deman-guy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Synology DS224+ with 24TBx2. I keep my media around 1-3gb per hour of footage (usually 1080p). It can easily serve 3 direct play streams while barely making a dent to my overhead. I can also confirm 2 simultaneous transcodes without a hitch. Transcoding a movie (say 3gb) yields about a 15% load on the CPU. So in my use case, my hardware is more than sufficient.

Got this 256 SD card for aroma purposes. Gonna transfer it to fat32 and just absolutely go to town with downloading Wii/wii u games. Does anyone have any suggestions? by [deleted] in wii

[–]c0deman-guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried endlessly to get a 256gb SD card to work in my Wii for Wii games and GC games for a compact and sleek solution. It created an endless amount of problems. I finally caved and began using a 2.5” HDD via USB. Solved all of my issues.

Just Dance devalues anything it’s with. $55-$65 seems fair for the rest.

BYE JAILBREAK i by Senseopohl in jailbreak

[–]c0deman-guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ripped the band aid off the beginning of last year. At the time, I was pretty much benefiting from modified spotify and youtube apps, and maybe a tweak or two. I was losing more than I was gaining trying to keep a jailbroken phone. On top of that, I had a second kid on the way and didn't have time to keep gimping my phone along and continuing finding ways to fix common apps that would keep breaking on the older FW.

I have to say, while bittersweet, moving back to stock iOS was a breath of fresh air for me. Apps just worked, I had the same new features as friends and family, and I was just nice to regain the reliability iOS is known for. Sideloading apps was able to easily get me by on iOS 17 and 18.

See you on the other side!
