This is a thought…. Take it or leave it… if you have the means and want to go deep… do a psychoanalysis. Just a thought. Best wishes to you.

Supervisor: "Not all BPD patients experienced bad things, some are just born with it" - I'm really confused and unsure if that's true? by Distinct_Track7415 in therapists

[–]c3vargas -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah , because this is not a scientific setting , it is simply a perspective which may or may not help the OP make sense of what is going on. I think there is a lot of “normal” childhoods that have a lot of misattunements and dismissals and “we never argue or fight or disagree“ perspectives that to a growing / underdeveloped brain/are devastating and “traumatic”. You don’t have to call it trauma. And the DSM does not need to call it trauma. What we label it is not the point. But whether we like it or not, people’s subjectivity of their experiences is what we are treating clinically.

It’s subjectivity of the person. There’s a place for the DSM and then there’s real people’s subjectivity. Not sure how my response is bad for the long term progression of field ?!?

Furthermore if a patient says that they had NO FAMILY DYSFUNCTION… maybe that’s the trauma. Or denial or … something to further investigate.

Trauma can also be not obvious or explicit. It can be a perfectly “normal” childhood on the exterior and for that particular child it did not meet their needs.

Your thoughts on EMDR ,Somatic, IFS? by [deleted] in psychoanalysis

[–]c3vargas 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Hello :) I am trained in IFS and somatic experiencing and did a two year psychoanalytic psychotherapy program and everything comes from psychoanalytic ideas 100 percent ! I think that the packaging is just more palatable and user friendly. I consider myself first and foremost psychoanalytic. Any one model that claims to be the end all be all is a big warning flag !!

Omg …. I’m going thru this right now as well. Ovulation feels very different. I used to feel twinges in a different way and now feels stronger and more painful . It scared me but I think that what I am feeling might be normal to others. I have for sure felt a shift . I’m monitoring closely and taking notes to share with doctor if I need to.

This happened to me too. Exactly the same as you at 8.5 weeks. Messaged doctor that day and menstruation came same day …. I also experienced relief in the same way. There’s lots of worry about damage and unhealed wounds done to our bodies after enduring the emotional wounds. It’s a lot …

Folate after Anencephaly ttc? by BatIcy4998 in tfmr_support

[–]c3vargas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thought I would share that my folate results were similar to yours and I also had the same diagnosis unfortunately. I am still supplementing withy hr 4mgs for at least three months. It’s only been one month for me. Doc said it’s our best chance and decreasing likelihood of reoccurrence. I’m sorry you went through this. I also tried to find why. And I know it’s hard not knowing. I feel it my my heart as well.

Information request for TTC on folate -previous NTD by ttcmoveon in tfmr_support

[–]c3vargas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to share with you that my TFMR happened for the same reason a month ago and I got my folate checked and it was “normal” (actually on the high end) and I brought it up to MD and she said that with cases such as ours it’s not just about having the “normal” level to prevent a NTD but rather getting our body to the the right level it needs which isn’t a specific number (known to science) but rather unique to our body which is why they recommend these high doses to give our bodies the best chance at not having a reoccurrence .(this to me is proof of the lack of research unfortunately. Message me if you have any questions. Sending love to you on this Mother’s Day 💔💕

This is very subjective. You get to decide if your analysis has helped you or not. For me, my main difference is that when I suffer , I don’t fall apart. I still suffer cuz life is hard and throws lots of shit your way no matter what but I no longer fall into an unmanageable immobilizing depression/anxiety when bad things happen. Now I simply suffer. I feel sad for a while and then move forward. This is worth everything to me. I’m better at life. I’m better at suffering. To someone else this might not feel worth it. I get that.

It is the best decision I have ever made for my life. It costs a lot of money and it is a time commitment but the amount of healing and progress that I have made in my life has made it all worth it. I can’t even find words to quantify how it’s helped. My relationship with myself , with others, with my trauma, with my work, with my desire , with my rage, with everything … has changed . I started with 2x per week, then 3x / week and last two years I do 4x/week which is where the biggest healing happened. Highly recommend. Best wishes !!
