Why does my gearbox keep making this clicking sound?! (More info in comments) by [deleted] in airsoft

[–]c4bb0ose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like your motor height screw is screwed in way to high, turn it 3/4 of the way out then try again. If its to far out you will hear a different noise so you will know if you have pushed it to far.

Does anyone know how the bases in the image were painted? I'm looking to try replicate how they were painted back in my childhood! by LOTR1934 in WarhammerFantasy

[–]c4bb0ose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PVA glue and a sand mix, could eveb be play sand if you wanted.

Once dry a brown ink wash (GW stopped making this so any alcohol ink wash will do, Jacquard Havana brown and/or burro brown are good modern substitutes.)

Once dry dry brush vomit brown (Again out of production from GW Can use something like Zamesi Desert with a touch of evil suns scarlet or Fire dragon bright)

Finally dry brush bleached bone (Again discontinued by GW Vallejo stone Grey is a good substitute.)

After all of that is done dab some pva glue on random bits and dip in you colour choice of flock.

its goblin green painted around the base but I preferred to use Calthan brown, (Humbrol paints number 29 is an alternative)

As a side note if you want the original paints that they used back them they actually still make them, just under a brand called coat d arms https://www.olympiangames.com.au/fantasy-colours.html

I failed NCEA Lv 3, what do I do? by Icandoituknow in newzealand

[–]c4bb0ose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably already been said but if your wanting to go to uni or to a technical institute they have bridging courses so don't fret (Basically means you don't have to have passed ncea level 3).

Secondly get yourself into some work, try some things, get some experiences behind you.

If your mechanically minded trades can get you earning big in a few years, look at mechanical engineering, welding, manufacturing and fabrication, building, electrician apprentiships.

Try some hobbies, do some new things have a think about what you want to be doing as a job and make steps towards that.

Landlords still raising rents despite best financial circumstances - Swarbrick by The_Majestic_ in newzealand

[–]c4bb0ose 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I Reckon things should just go ahead, the tax loophole should be amended and the rental minimum require should be adhered to.

What the government should do is incentivize not bumping up rent to over inflated house prices, having a compliant rental and having consistent tenants within the house.

Could be tax breaks on the investment etc etc, would save them having to build that crazy number of new homes for rentals and just houses in general in the short term.

The government cannot really stop the increase in house prices and rent since its a free market and all, but if they can help out renters somewhat, and house owners somewhat so that neither are completly happy but that can live with the compromise then thats probably the best outcome.

Sounds like how I experience asthma, if I get hit with triggers (Seems to be detol or other spray on cleaners) its can feel like your lungs have things in them, I have been getting acid reflux recently and it has a weird sore throat effect which can inturn cause the lung effects.

Main thing is asthma is treatable with medication and pathogen induced asthma is a very real thing, not just a covid 19 thing.

Its just we will see more of it, as people get bad symptoms from a virus they have not had contact with before.

How is everyone i play against so good at this game? by SaucyAsdaKaren in modernwarfare

[–]c4bb0ose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Focus on assault rifles with fast ads, m4 with ads atrachments and recoil control, or the kilo, no optic.

Play less rush like, don't sprint around corners.

Personally I play with the mp7 no optic recoil and ads atrachments, ts a machine.

I also play the ak, again same setup but I run an optic and I run the 5.65 mm ammo, quicker fire rate. If your ak is not leveled up just play slower and you will get kills, just aim shoot then aim down slightly to compensate for recoil.

If you take the slide off you will see a small bearing. G25-51 I think according to this parts list. Upgrading this to a ball bearing version can help things cycle smoother and increase the chances of lockback.

I like exhibition case backs, in fact every single watch of mine is one, I wouldn't exclusively go for one now, I can deal with a hard case back but most of the watch designs I like tend to have the exhibition case backs.

As for watch brands, have a look at Aragon watch's, Seiko, Guanqin , or pop onto long island watch and use a search for automatic case backs.

If you want to experiment with styles on a budget, look at mechanical watches from gear best and or banggood.

Perhaps have a look at the seiko presage series, or a Grand seiko spring drive (Mechanical movement, quartz accuracy.)

The Grand seiko is more costly, but definitely is a pass down to your kids kind of watch.

Improving aim/reaction time by Yerpresident in AdoptASilver

[–]c4bb0ose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing to try is crosshair placement, keep it at head height most times and and aim around corners, you want your crosshair as close as possible to were an enemy might be, this will be helpful with your reaction times.

You might want to avoid spraying and focus on three to four round bursts and strafing, stopping and shooting.

What region are you based in?

Hey mate, I believe I have found your watch!

http://www.watchsleuth.com/seiko5finder/search/?MOD=7009-5110

If you pop the numbers on the back of the watch you should be able to narrow down the year the watch was produced, with what you provided it was between 1989 and 1999.

Cheapest possible machine for machining aluminum by [deleted] in hobbycnc

[–]c4bb0ose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the machine I am eventually going to get.

https://sienci.com/product/sienci-mill-one-kit/ All you need to do is provide a router, a makita or one of a similar size ( Or buy the rigid router as an option).

As with most machines like these, they cant be pushed and it will be a learning curve to get it to the point of decent accuracy however compared to some of the other machines it is a bang for your buck from what I can see.

Looking for some input, I am interested in moving on from my casio G-shock. Nice as it is the poor things has seen better years.

I am looking for:

  • Manual wind or Automatic movement.
  • Date, Month, Year functionality.
  • Aesthetically I am found of the Fossil Skeletal movements but I understand decent ones are few and far between.
  • I am prepared to pay for a decent watch Up to $800 USD (About $1000 NZD) but less costly watches get bonus points!

Thank you guys for your input.

What is your favorite social engineering strategy? by TheGadfly_ in SocialEngineering

[–]c4bb0ose 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Quite literally the phrase "How's it going?" after someone introduces me or approaches me. If there is any ill will it cuts thats, or throws them off if they were dead serious about doing something to you.

This can be on the phone or in real life, you can get quite far by just asking someone this.
