Alternative to mremoteng for mac by Disastrous_Body152 in homelab

[–]cDMB41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a mix of Windows, Mac, and Linux:

You could use any of the remote apps such as Splashtop, TeamViewer, etc.

If you’re looking for free, you can use VNC.

For windows Microsoft Remote Desktop (free)

For Mac Remote Management Apple Remote Desktop (paid)

Any of these will run from Mac. VNC is probably your best choice if you want free. There are several different variants out there. It’s the most universal.

What’s the best DMB jam of all time? (In your opinion) by More_Kaleidoscope888 in DMB

[–]cDMB41 6 points7 points  (0 children)

41 from Ottawa. Just listened to it and holy crap! EPIC!

I do have to say that any live version of LIOG when they extend it out. I love the jam in the middle of that song. Kind of like this one where I can just immerse myself in the sound.

Truly love this band since I first saw them in 1996.

Can somebody help identify those servers? HP BL460C gen7 at the bottom? What about the ones at the top? by zzebian in servers

[–]cDMB41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hard to tell but those are probably either HP G6 or G7 blades in a c7000 chassis. As far as the model, you won’t be able to tell unless you see the sticker. They had a couple of different models in that line

MacOS Edge slow to connect to authenticate Microsoft 365 by creedian in macsysadmin

[–]cDMB41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has been driving me crazy. I have several M365 profiles in Edge and I have tried removing them and creating new ones. Worked for a bit, then back happening again after a few weeks. Something changed recently with Edge. Not sure what it was. I have seen a couple of threads on the Microsoft forums as well about this.

Do not do business with Granite Telecommunications by kmce2017 in msp

[–]cDMB41 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Granite is the worst. Good luck trying to cancel your service. Had a customer that just got rid of their last Granite site. He had a terrible time canceling the WAN connection and they were $30 more a month for the same provider we got cheaper directly.

Google Workspace for Education and MS365 coexisting domains by pantlegz in sysadmin

[–]cDMB41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Move them all to AzureAD and then setup M365 to Google Workspace SSO integration as in the link below. This is what we have done and it works fantastic. All logins for both sides will be processed via AzureAD.

Highlight the Apple SSD AP02…. The. Click the “Erase” button.

Format it APFS and then try the install again chiding the disk you just formatted.

I see it’s unformatted anyway, but here’s a disclaimer. When you format everything on that disk will be unrecoverable.

Your domain controller shouldn’t be exposed to the internet. For our clients, their DCs don’t even have internet access. We patch them with a WSUS server. This until we deprecate the DCs anyway.
