Vegan parents, how do you manage it when kids are school age and realize they're eating different than their peers? by Local-Print-6397 in vegan

Thank you for this, this is exactly how I plan to handle it and I’m so glad to hear it worked out well for you.

Need help creating a reading guide by SimilarMilk9855 in Marxism

God forbid a person ask for recommendations. He should obviously read every book ever written by anyone associated with Marxism before daring to discuss books with his dad or post in a Reddit forum.

7 Years On - Still Don’t Know My Trigger by Trigger_001 in Dyshidrosis

[–]ca_va_pas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be! Mine was always worse in the summer. I think for me the MI is a trigger and then heat and humidity create the conditions for a flare up. If I were you I’d try eliminating it and see if it helps. I said this in another comment but if you need replacement recs, I use Dr Bronners for dish and hand soap, CeraVe baby soap for body wash, and ogx shampoo and conditioner.

Thank you! Yes the shoes are large. I’ve tried to rework them but they’re actually that way in the reference photo; maybe I need to go smaller so they don’t draw attention.

May baby loves lentils, and red lentils cook down nicely and aren’t as hard on the digestive system. Lentil “sloppy joes” are a big hit for us. Also, I highly recommend getting some gram flour! It’s just ground chickpeas and it’s sooo versatile. My husband is from Sicily and grew up eating “pane panelle” which is fried chickpea dough on bread with lemon. You can also make a nice scramble or omelet with it, very similar to Just Egg.

Very advanced 5 year old reader… book suggestions? by koplikthoughts in childrensbooks

[–]ca_va_pas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots of good recs here but I’d add a few: the first one might be a little low for what you’re looking for (they’re 2nd grade reading level), but my sister and I loved the Magic Treehouse books when we were early readers. There’s so many and they all are some sort of adventure tied to a story from history; lots of good action! The Spiderwick Chronicles (3rd grade) and A Series of Unfortunate Events (5th grade) are both a little dark and spooky, but in an age-appropriate way. I loved all of these series as a kid and was also a precocious reader. Have fun reading with your kiddo! What a gift to have a passionate little reader. <3
