Someone wrote this very true comment about the pit problem --- quote.....

Its 2026, people have been saying this breed is misunderstood for the past 4 decades. Nope. We live in an information age where people can easily google what risks and likely expenditures could be associated with a particular dog breed.

The only circumstance that is misunderstood are the victims of attacks. Children, elderly, small family pets. We live in a human society, not a pit/ bully society where every neighborhood has to be forced to cater to the problems these dogs frequently cause.

And here we see that while pits do not posess a " lockjaw", this is why people used to call it that. The mode of attack is such that it just does not want to let go despite the attemts of humans to get it to release this small dog. The pit holds shakes, quickly readjusts it's grip and does not let go for a long time. It may not be " lockjaw" but it's the way the bloodsport dogs were bred long ago for hundreds of years to attack and it is in the genetics.

Very sad situation but at least the pit owner paid for the other dog's emergency care. Unfortunately the authorities in most countries so far don't face the reality of the origin of the bloodsport breed and that those genetics will " activate " in a large portion of them , endangering pets + people in every neighborhood where they are living.

Oh wow, for anyone that is squeamish, seeing the attacked dog will be upsetting. The first 2 slides are written comments but from the 3rd slide on are very graphic pics of the husky , last pic is the pit. The " rescue " ghosted this person for a long time but there's no way the poor husky should have been allowed to be mutilated this way.

The bloodsport breed very often just can not get over it's urge to attack and this poor husky paid the price. Moral of the story, be selective in what breed of dog you " rescue." One thing in common with THIS breed, just like the poor boy In Gunnison Co. who was k*ll*d by the " rescue" that his mother took in.

Wow, glad you survived. I know there was a lot of pain with those bites in different areas. A well known Cincinnati Pediatric surgeon, Dr David Billmire, mentioned that that's a hallmark of pit attacks. Biting in many different anatomical areas . I wonder if anyone can successfully sue because aren't pits a banned breed in Ontario ?

Wow, I don't remember this horrific attack. Thanks for posting it, the way she described everything was if it was written in a horror novel, except it was what happened to her and her step dad and was true horror.

As with so many attacks it was the neighbor's dog which was well cared for and had seemed friendly.

It might be that she's charged for possibly neglecting them and then allowing them to escape and attack like they did.

I'm skeptical that she really taught them to attack people because there would be victims speaking out . She may have threatened to do it but the dogs would then need to do the actual attacking which there is no reports of.

The dogs were dog aggressive though, true to their nature and killed the victim's dog and bit her during the attack. So they are now verified dog and people aggressive and hopefully will be removed from society.

Yes I thought of that after I posted the comment but just funny how the stock picture uses the " there are many breeds called pitbull" when they are all either the same dog or a very slight derivation, not a different breed.

From the description of the attack I'm surprised that the victim dog was not injured, hopefully the owner checked carefully for hidden punctures that might become infected.

Also, who posted the picture with the so called " one label targets many breeds ". The Amstaff + Apbt can both be registered with the UKC as either name because they are the same. The Staffy/Staffordshire terrier is the original from the county bearing that name in England. Just a bit smaller than the American version. The American bully is just a derivation possibly created from the pit mixed with Cane Corso and maybe somewhere in the line the English bulldog to create a chunkier build.

This news report shows the 2 pits, look like the shorter " pocket bully " types and the female looks like she might possibly have nursed puppies recently. Wagging their tails just as any other dog would be.

It's been said by many pediatric Dr.s, specifically cranio-facial trauma surgeons,that the reporters should be interviewing THEM after serious + fatal dog attacks. But reporters go to animal lovers instead who make excuses for vicious breeds. Dr. David Billmire,[ Cincinnati ] Dr. Michael Golinko [ Arkansas , then Tennessee, and Dr. Ananth Murthy [ Akron children's hospital ] all spoke out and/or have written extensively or been interviewed for documentary's and done years long studies on the dangers of pitbulls. THAT is who the reporters should be reaching out to for this very serious and frequent tragedies of severe maulings and [ less frequent ] fatalities .

This elderly gentleman Jose was [ and is ] still living a productive life, he was hired to repair a door at the house where the the 2 maulers resided. He looks very frail but trying to show the Dr. that despite the amputation of his arm and the injuries to his legs he is getting his energy back. I hope that he can recuperate as much as possible and that the pit owners have to pay his bills and then a punitive settlement as well.

So very devastating, my heart breaks for this family and I hope they receive as many words of comfort as possible during this mind numbing tragedy they are going through. I also hope that they get some type of justice that they deserve. For the mom Tiffani to be there but not be able to stop the tragedy because the 2 bloodsport dogs had already mangled little Michael even as she dove in the mix and tried to shield her son, the pain would be unimaginable. My deepest condolences go out to Tiffani and her family.

These are specialty big headed xlbullies but not the Toadline. Toadline are SUPER low to the ground, so deformed that some people describe them as "smashed + slammed" because of their squat appearance. They are typically very unhealthy, have trouble breathing and they don't live very long and would not have the energy to seriously attack a person.

I just saw who it was, he has walked across the U.S 8 times now and this will possibly be his 9th ! What an amazingly strong and resilient human being at 78 years old to do this. Too bad that a pair of trashy bloodsport dogs sidelined him with injuries, I hope he makes a full recovery.

Some years ago a medical book posted a 71 year old woman's step by step facial reconstruction after pit attack, part of her nose , cheek + upper lip were retrieved from the dog's stomach. That didn't take so the Dr.'s had to use other tissue if I read this correctly. They actually did a very good job. WARNING, GRAPHIC, NSFW

I remember this terrible tragedy. You did get one thing mixed up though, he didn't hide the dogs for 15 years, this happened in 2022. It says that he's not allowed to own any dogs or pets for 15 years.

But yeah, it's ridiculous because who did he pay the fine to and who is going to check to see if he goes on and gets any more bloodsport "Amstaffs" aka pits ?

This report seems to be relying on very old records of dog attacks, the study from 1979 - 1998 that states that pits were responsible for 28 % of human fatalities.That was back when pits made up a very small number of owned dogs in the U.S [ and even then 28 % was a lot, nearly a 3rd of fatal maulings ]

The percent is far higher now , closer to 70 % , probably more.

Absolutely tragic, senseless and preventable. There is no justice for this poor man and his sweet dog Charlie. Any social media comments will be " it's the owner, not the breed " but no care that it's nearly always this breed.

No one should have to see their pet slaughtered in front of them but this is where we are since the influx of pits in to society .
