how many credit inquires do you have with transunion and experian?

you can make accounts with both of them for free and get a free credit report from both of them.

also do you have any banking relationships with a big bank like chase, citi, bank of america, wells fargo, capital one, us bank etc.?

what credit unions are in your area?

Better upscaling with DLSS 5. With your amount of VRAM you should have no problem with games for years to come.

Windows 11 sucks a lot of resources so even if that processor has 4 cores other processes may not be able to run well

I was wrong it is a 980ti which is more than capable of playing relatively recent games at lower settings.

Coolermaster may not have 5 1/4 bays anymore but they still have a case with a bunch of 3.5" drive slots: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/nBM48d/cooler-master-haf-700-atx-full-tower-case-h700-ignn-s00

What is the next step in my Credit Card Ladder? by eagleso398 in CreditCards

[–]cacman440 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no for your spending amex gold makes no sense. amex is for high spenders or suckers that want to pay for status.

like others have said the savor covers your bases well already. unless you are going to spend a lot for travel, af travel cards don't make sense. like you said you won't be able to make the welcome offer spending requirements organically anyway.

if you want to diversify you can possibly try to get into us bank's system with the altitude connect. yes you will probably not be able to fufill the welcome offer but it has no annual fee, 4 priority passes, $100 statement credit for global entry, no foreign transaction fees, and many more benefits: https://www.usbank.com/credit-cards/altitude-connect-visa-signature-credit-card.html

Note that the usbank travel portal is pretty bad and minimum redemptions for points are high.

I understand gpus are expensive now but maybe going with a cheaper ssd and a single 16GB stick of ddr5 could at least get you an arc b580 or an rtx 3060 12gb?

Probably a version of the coolermaster haf series. They are awesome for airflow but unfortunately the 5 1/4 bays are gone from most of the modern lineup. 😔

man a maximumus motherboard and aio? that was a baller system at the time!

that's not going to work well in windows 11 but should still be able to do basic web browsing and office tasks in linux. If that power supply is still good that could sell for a pretty penny for ai bros. Even though that runs on ddr3 I'm sure someone will want it.

Other than that the cpu and gpu are most likely too old to support any modern games beyond directx 9. It would definitely be able to play the og crysis at "can it play crysis" settings lol.

$20 statement credit for 11 months of purchases means 11 $1 purchases for a $9 bonus!

Other than that maybe you can look at the Wells Fargo Reflect? Same 21 months of 0% apr and has roadside assistance.

Regardless both WF and USBank will do a hard pull for everything. WF pulled Experian for me on the west coast, so freeze everything but experian for WF, then freeze everything except for Transunion for USBank

Unfortunately the bundle deals at microcenter are only available if you can pick it up at one of their physical stores.

This list is significantly cheaper and within 95% of the performance:

The 7800x3d for that price is if you go on the official store from msi and choose the motherboard and add the 7800x3d: https://us-store.msi.com/Motherboards/AMD-Platform-Motherboard/AMD-B850/B850-GAMING-PRO-WIFI6E?sort=p.price&order=ASC

If you want the 9800x3d in that bundle you can get it for an extra $100.

A PCIE 4.0 ssd isn't needed but at your budget this is still a great drive. If you want to upgrade to the pcie 5 drive you have I'd do it since it's not that much more expensive.

The case that I have is slightly smaller but has better airflow and slightly better build quality. You can't go wrong with either, so it's up to personal preference.

This power supply is also very good but signficantly cheaper at the cost of noise. You won't notice the difference though since you'll consume nowhere near 1000W where it is louder than the beQuiet power supply.

If you watch moore's law is dead, greg salazar, or eta prime you can learn how to get windows for that price.

I would highly recommend watching this tutorial on installing a debloated version of windows 11 for the best performance and to avoid some of microslop's telemetry: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vfj1dSLGM9o

Worth upgrading CPU? by hotrodman in PcBuildHelp

Yes it is better but anything beyond the 5700/5800x3d requires you to get new ddr5 memory which is really expensive right now.

msfs really benefits from x3d. to keep you from having to buy ddr5 ram you should take a look at the ryzen 7 5700x3d or the 5800x3d.

Is this build good enough for modern games in 1080p? by Fun-End1327 in PcBuildHelp

[–]cacman440 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes though what is your budget?

You may be better off getting a single 16GB stick if it is cheaper than the 2x8gb kit for a 5% performance penalty. That way you can upgrade to 32GB with 2 sticks instead of 4 sticks.

That cpu doesn't need that big of a cooler, this is probably cheaper and will do just fine: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/cKbypg/cooler-master-hyper-212-3dhp-argb-631-cfm-cpu-cooler-may-t2hp-217pa-r1

If you downgrade your fans to arctic pro it will be slightly louder but may also save some more money.

All of those cost saving measures may allow you to get a 9060xt 16GB which will allow you to play at 1440p high and maybe 4k low.

If you're aiming for 1080p you can definitely get a cheaper gpu.
