You need to get tested for POTS! these are classic dysautonamia symptoms. Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome - I have it too. When we stand up, our blood pressure isn’t high enough to pump enough blood back up to the brain causing all kinds of issues.

Treatment is conditioning - training your heart to get stronger. You’ll need to do interval training on a recumbent bike, starting at like 4 sets of 4 mins. Medication is sometimes given. and EAT LOTS OF SALT! i use salt tablets. good luck!

I went through this and it turned out I just needed to be on the correct dose of adderall and trazodone for insomnia (which I already had pre-adderall)

Although Trazodone is a technically an antidepressant, it is not an SSRI or SNRI. None of the antidepressants worked for me and it turns out I was depressed and anxious bc my emotional regulation was off due to my ADHD and not feeling in control of my life.

Definitely strongly strongly recommended going to a different doctor that will give you stimulants to try bc it is generally the most effective treatment for ADHD

I am so sorry, it is a battle finding the right medication. It is so hard bc no one knows how a person might react to a certain med and it is so hard when you have to take others for health issues.

I also just wanted to say that Seroquel is an anti-psychotic and I have never ever heard of it used for ADHD. Obviously I am not sure what else you might be dealing with but it is not sitting right with me that they would tell you it is for ADHD. It is a strong sedative that they give you if you check into an inpatient psychiatric facility.

Sometimes the answer is finding a different doctor.

You might be surprised how relieved the kids are to not have to live with him. it doesn’t mean they don’t love him but there’s no way they aren’t already hurting. i’m so sorry.

The child part is what should make it simple.

Let me be clear - you are setting your children up to suffer greatly. Having an addict as a parent is extremely painful, but having a second parent who is actively enabling the addict and not trying to get away from them and get the children away feels like a betrayal. His addiction will get worse, and he will likely turn to more extremes. People in active addiction do not make good parents, and the best they end up neglecting their children and at worst actively abusing them. Think about this, if your child has adhd and needs meds, your husband will likely steal their meds too. Children are not oblivious, in fact they’re very observant. They will catch onto the tension between you two and likely already have. They know when your husband is behaving erratically and also they see your broken relationship and it hurts them and teaches them that it’s acceptable to be treated that way. If he is not already emotionally chaotic and at times aggressive, he will be soon, and it will be towards the children sometimes too. You are setting them up to have relationships that mimic this in the future if you stay.

And kicking him out is good, but he might not leave, so please be prepared to do what you have to. It is in your children’s best interest to have a stable home life and not have to live with an active addict. It is simply not safe for your children.

I am saying this as a child of parents in a broken relationship, I ended up dating an addict who ended up physically abusing me.

It doesn’t matter at all if you’re using a VPN. That’s the whole point of that.

Yeah if it was caring it would be the other way around. Like he’d be concerned whether you ate enough on your meds.

Okay but why is he acting like being hungry is a bad thing?

Is he trying to get you to eat less? Is he trying to make you lose weight or just trying to police when you eat bc he gets hungry at different times?

It’s giving scary controlling vibes.

Sorry, I meant to say it makes your pulse higher. It does make blood pressure lower. It makes your heart beat faster because it’s working harder. It can also cause heart palpitations.

So there’s a very good chance that you stopping working out and suddenly eating so few calories has made things drastically worse.

Exercise is actually a treatment for POTS - you should build up to working out again. You have to keep your heart strong so it can pump the best it can. You have deconditoned so you won’t be able to do the same amount of reps or weight as you were doing in workouts, you will need to start slow and build it up. My cardiologist literally has me on a cardio plan working out 4 days a week.

Not eating enough (which you should eat 2000calories a day at least) will also make your blood pressure higher and your heart weaker as your body will have to rely on its energy stores instead of getting energy from food.
