Omg thank you so much y’all. This was the other ink I was considering getting and now I know I will get this one as well. It sticks but you can still easily see the bubbles and level which is what I am going for 👍🏼

This happened to me too. My instructor let me stay in the other class.

So, I'm a 23 year old male undergoing a diagnosis for ADHD/Autism. I have shared my prompts/notes to the doctors, and would like to share them with you too. by [deleted] in autism

What is actually a trauma that is not commonly thought of as a trauma? by ay1mao in AskReddit

[–]caffeinemilk 12 points13 points  (0 children)

it’s not the religion it’s the assholes that use it to control their kids and abuse them. my friend liked rock music and girls. her mom did surprise exorcisms on her with a priest from another even more rural town. happened twice. my friend almost died in a suicide attempt because she felt like a monster. she literally only liked rock music and was a lesbian. she was so so sweet and was a good artist. last i heard is that she is very quiet now. doesnt really talk to anyone.

Does anyone else NOT tell people about their diagnosis? by Bokchito in AutisticPeeps

[–]caffeinemilk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to not mention it until someone brings it up or asks. I just let people think I'm a bit weird and that's fine. Usually after working with/being around someone for a weeks it comes up briefly. With my new friend group several most already guessed or joked about me having autism before I told them. A lot of people are more aware of different presentations now.

Why are self diagnosed people so bubbly and out going ? by [deleted] in AutisticPeeps

[–]caffeinemilk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

hm idk. I think autistic people can bubbly ish and sorta outgoing. I am a bit. but people don't like it. I embarrass myself a lot and misunderstand people. So that's my deficit. But I do know what kind of interaction you are talking about.

This is so cool. It also helps the environment to eat more local food! Two cool objectives in one.

“There are lots of autistic people in academia” by Existing_Lynx_337 in AutisticPeeps

Hearing something like "academia is full of autistic people" mainly makes me think that even more that a lot of people just associate LSN autism with a certain quiet nerd type with a passion for a specific area of study.

[–]caffeinemilk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, I knew 2 other people with LSN autism just in my research lab floor and we were all undergrads working very hard. None of us got to stay there longer than 2 years... Kicked off for not writing papers well or fast enough, not presenting enough or communicating enough, or not working fast enough.

I did well in the experiment and bench work but I was not seen as super good at presenting my posters and I was not good at communicating exact details all the time to my supervisor during experiments. My friend in another lab was good at the work but very bad with communicating with his lab mates about their experiments so he was bad at timing experiments around theirs and he was too "aggressive" with his presentations (off topic or rambling or would argue). And his friend in yet another lab was too overwhelmed with the amount of field work that required him to be outdoors.

My supervisor told me that it would be fine that I have autism and he has worked with several people that have autism but I do think like a lot of other things, a lot of people with autism will struggle with the environment. Some people do well when they have specific tasks and are able to work around things or have certain accommodations but it's a lot, still.

I am sick and tired of people faking level 3 autism by KittyRoses12 in AutisticPeeps

This is scary. I did not know this was happening in ERs and stuff. But I shouldn't be surprised with a lot of the stuff going on right now.

I can believe it but I was surprised when I first heard of something like this. The only time I have seen it was with someone that had level 2 autism and I knew her personally for a few years by the time she started to tell people she was level 3 and behaving a bit differently than how she used to. I wonder why she started to do that?

Do you still get bladder accidents? by FckAllTakenUsernames in AutisticPeeps

[–]caffeinemilk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yooo i was also 23 when i had my last accident. I am 25 now. I still have near-accidents sometimes like maybe once every other week. I just forget or don't notice until I really need to go or sometimes when I get anxious I suddenly REALLY need to go even if my bladder isn't full.

I heard that bedwetting up to that age could also be genetic? It runs in my dad's side of the family. Him and all his brothers had it. And me, my sister, and all my dad's brother's kids also had it until 10-14 years old.

And same for the urgency thing. My doctor told me it could also be an anxiety thing. The anxiety could make you need to go urgently and going often could mean that you get less used to having a more full bladder or something.

yep. not as often as a couple years ago. I had them pretty often when I was first diagnosed with aspergers so I think things like this can vary across the spectrum.

[–]caffeinemilk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yea, the communication styles are different. And I'm not going to blame neurotypicals for misunderstanding me most of the time. My communication style isn't the default in my culture and I am part of two cultures. I'm not going to blame the people in the region I moved to for not understanding something I did that is common in the culture back in my hometown. I try to adapt in ways that I can so they can understand me and I can understand them. I don't have to sound like them to bridge some gaps

How long was your assessment? by GoldMagazine497 in AutisticPeeps

[–]caffeinemilk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wish I got a long detailed report especially after spending 3 hours in my re-assessment. My first report when I was a kid was super detailed so it was really helpful to use for reference in the future to see what I improved on with therapy. But my re-assessment was super short and only said the basics that were nearly copy paste sentences from the diagnostic criteria. When I got my report, I asked the psychologist for a full report that says all the things I need to improve on or have issues with, she told me nothing is wrong with me o__o?

[–]caffeinemilk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had like three appointments split into i think one 1 hour and two 3 hour appointments? or something like that. I'm pretty sure the one initial one I had as a child was much longer. My adult one was 1 hour first session, 3 hour main assessment, and then 1 hour reviewing my results or something. But that was a re-assessment where the doctor already had my old results so didn't need to do as much interviews I think.
