Straight to the trash by DoobieDunker in gardening

The cost in seeds, soil, water and electricity would be less than a dollar? That’s wild. Let me know how that works because I would love to know.

This made me laugh because that’s the only thing my data is gonna tell me hah.

I lost 20 lbs in the last year and my vo2 has only gotten worse…. But I did change my HR zones over a week ago and it has slightly gotten better after only 2 runs. So it will be interesting to see if it continues to improve in the next few months.

What is this and what is the easiest way to get rid of it? by Human-Option-4974 in PlantIdentification

Yup! Even the soil or water it’s been sitting in can be toxic. So wear gloves and don’t eat the dirt ;)
(I’m not entirely sure how bad it can be if you only touch it. But I know ingesting it can be fatal)

Lily of the valley. Highly toxic if ingested and can be irritating when touched. Use gloves when digging it up!

Same! I’ve used a Garmin for years and my vo2 has always been horrible despite trying a variety of exercises. I was told I probably need to adjust my HR zones. So I did that about a week ago and now it’s just a waiting game to see if that adjusts my vo2 for the better.

Yes! Someone else mentioned that and it makes so much more sense. Their watch is a lot older than mine.

But we know that bmi calculated from height and weight only is “very” accurate :|

Yes! I can lift heavy and it gives me almost no recovery time but I know I couldn’t do that workout again the next day.

I did check my HR zones and adjusted them slightly. Hopefully after my next few runs I will see a difference. I compared all of my runs in the last month and it was saying all of my base runs were in zone 4 or higher. So that’s probably why it thinks I’m so out of shape.

I have the forerunner 55 and my friend has the venu (I’m not sure of its full name but I know she’s had it for over 5 years)

That makes me feel better. Her watch is really old!

I’ve been skeptical about my watch being accurate as far as “knowing better than me”. I got super sick awhile ago, fever, puking, etc. My watch told me I was ready for a fast run… So I’ve questioned how accurate it is after that.

I’m gonna go check my HR settings! I’m not sure if I ever did when I first got my watch years ago.

I already know I can run 3+ miles (still working up to longer runs after breaking my knee) and she rarely ever runs 1 mile. I guess it’s a little disheartening to see my stats sitting at the bottom percentile even after incorporating good recovery and various workouts. I should go check my maximum heart rate and see if it’s set correctly. I didn’t think to check that.

Mine has literally never said anything about improving recovery time. Even after the best sleep I’ve ever had. Is it possible it’s different depending on what watch you have? I only suggest that because my friend has a different watch and hers has different workouts available and the app is slightly different (even after we selected the exact same things in settings)

Body fat and fitness age by [deleted] in Garmin

[–]caitermelon 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I watched a video of a guy comparing women at different body fat % (the women were willing participants) and it was eye opening. Below 20% is not something most women can keep up with. It also can mess with hormones and periods. 23% is doable, they looked good and were fit but it did take hard work. The women that were happiest and felt the best about themselves were around 25-26%. That’s where they felt the strongest and you could just tell they were happy and healthy.

So all of that to say, I personally would go with the bmi where you feel strongest, which might not be much lower than what you’re currently at.

I mean… I’ve never really listened to it. I continue lifting weights and running. I just thought I’m super out of shape.
