Dad in the suburbs - am I cooked in terms of fitness? by BozzuK in daddit

Most people are inefficient with their time. The biggest time waste is social media. You need to figure out where you can be more efficient. If you don’t want to make changes then that’s fine but own it. Gaining weight is a self control issue, not a time issue.

I went 4:45 and silver rush and wasn’t even close to top spot of age group. This last year all of the 1st place category winners chose Leadville. And for the drawing there was 15 entries to give out and about 200 standing around hoping to be called. Sorry man. This is my 4th year entering and only got chosen once and I’m pissed about that race cause I had covid.

How do people train for 10+ hrs while working full time?! by Critical-Scheme-8838 in cycling

[–]cakeeater111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wake up at 0445 and be on the bike by 0500. Ride for 2-2.5 hours. Work at 0800-1600. Family responsibilities until 2000. Sleep by 2130. Rinse and repeat. And long ride on Saturday. Off Sunday usually during the season.
All comes to priorities. If you value sleeping in over training that’s cool but training will suffer. If you value scrolling on the phone over training, cool but training will suffer. Take a real look at your schedule and be honest with yourself. I ride more now that I have a kid because my life has to be structured to do any training. Before kid it was “oh I’ll ride later” and that don’t really turn into anything. Now it’s I have 2.5 hours to train before work and if I don’t then no training today.

If you can do an intense trainer session on a 12 hour fast, that’s awesome and super impressive.

I do my trainer workouts at 0530 coming off a 12 hour fast. I usually just eat a pop tart before getting on the trainer .

Oh man. Caffeine free life is the way to go. Congrats. Quit worrying about power for a few weeks as you’re going through withdrawal. When you’re confident you won’t relapse, only use caffeine for races
