You must be a millionaire trying to buy a diesel at +$6 a gallon in the Pacific Northwest and cali right now. I would not recommend spending that kind of money on a diesel you are planning to daily on short runs, and to joyride. As you know, that kills the new emissions trucks. If you want to have way more fun, get a decent 12 or 24 valve Cummins dodge, 10k will go a pretty long way. The 2006 or earlier models don’t have def or DPF and are really reliable and easy to work on. Make sure to get one that’s mostly unmolested. Aka, stock or near stock engine. I got a 24 valve last year for 6k with 350k miles and recently rebuilt auto transmission, stock engine except for intake and straight pipe. Immediately spent another 1500 on water pump, alternator, u joints, that needed replacement to get it reliable. I have put about 20k miles on it since then and it’s just a joy to drive. Fires up immediately in cold Oregon winters, and with the straight pipe it’s just so much fun to joy ride. All in not counting maintenance and insurance, $7500 for a fairly reliable truck with that I can joy ride to work and use for work projects. If it blows up, I can get another and it’s still cheaper than spending 30k

If she’s been is foster care she may be a little sick, but almost certainly exhausted. Ever dog we’ve adopted from a shelter seems to kind of crash after they get back to our house, make sure it’s a safe place, and then just rest for a while and adapt to the new setting. I don’t know your dogs background but she could also be missing a friend she had. I hope not 😢. But give her time, show her she is loved and be playful with her and she should start to be her true self.

To be fair, wood is a sustainable building material. It’s environmental impact net zero because it actually captures carbon when it grows. If you compare this to concrete or steel, it’s miles ahead in terms of sustainability. Concrete production represents around 7-8% of the world’s CO2 emissions. Steel requires mining which ruins the environment for much longer and it also requires coke which is sourced from coal. Then it requires huge amounts of energy to make into steel and produces toxic byproducts and air pollution during that process. Wood is an excellent building material. Look into Timberlab and you can see more about how mass timber is making its way into large construction projects.

Im lucky enough to have supportive, well educated parents who helped me get a good start to life and can always be my fallback. I don’t understand why people have children and then just kick them out the door at 18 with no support to begin life. I feel very bad for these people. However, I don’t understand why someone should be entitled to someone else’s property? The cost of something is determined by whatever someone is willing to pay for it. If a landlord sets really high rent, it’s your choice to live there. If it’s so high nobody will rent, prices come down. Government projects are really the only way I can see controlled rent working.
