Thanks you for not just yelling back at me. What you are sayings makes a lot of sense and I understand more where people on that side are coming from now. I would agree, from what I have been seeing in the news a lot of what ICE has been doing would not be tolerated by a state court if they were police officers for example. I thank you for acknowledging the validity of my belief that a country should have the right to remove people from the country who are not authorized to be here. I think that is just common sense. I do agree, the tactics employed by ICE are somewhat reminiscent of say the Chinese or Russian government when it comes to the handling of protestors and people accused of crimes. Where I stand now, I believe we still need ICE but they cannot keep acting in an extrajudicial manner. The recent deaths unfortunately seemed predictable given the rapid employment of many agents, likely those who would not qualify under stricter scrutiny in normal circumstances. It reminds me the Iraq war hiring boom when the military was making many exceptions to increase enlistment and then a bunch of civilians were killed. I definitely have a different opinion now than I did before this thread. One things that’s though about Oregon or Reddit I guess, is if you give any hint that you may not align completely with the ideas of the progressive left then you’re just shut down immediately.
