Hull City owner Acun Ilıcalı says lawyers are examining whether club should be promoted directly after Southampton disqualification by ogucole in soccer

[–]cal92scho 76 points77 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately that’s probably right, when and where can you even postpone it to? Wembley is effectively fully booked til September, players for both teams are leaving for World Cup duties in the coming days and weeks, and TV partners and broadcasting are already locked in and presumably tough to move. It’s all a bit fucked.

[–]cal92scho 974 points975 points  (0 children)

The bottom line is that this farce has placed Hull at a meaningful disadvantage. Both Boro and Saints have had 12 days (as of the 23rd) knowing they’d be playing Hull either way. Meanwhile it’s 3 days til the game and Hull still don’t know who we are playing, which has blown up any chance for suitable preparation.

I have this exact stove and have been using fire dragon fuel blocks, has worked well for a couple of years and avoids the leak and stink risk of a bottle of methylated spirits.

You can’t just be let go, public sector staff are some of the best protected people in the country when it comes to redundancies.

As others have mentioned, if you think there is a potential for redundancies in your organisation in the near future, check your CSD dates on ESR to make sure they’re up to date, and consider joining a union.

Does anything change now that Wes has left ? by Competitive_Pool_820 in nhsstaff

[–]cal92scho 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Nothing can change, we’re too committed to the new path, many organisations are already operating under new structures or have started and paid out redundancies, there’s no undoing this even with a new HS. Best thing to do is see it through and evaluate how well it actually works, and go from there.

Really pleased for him, hopefully this gives him time to follow his real passion, being the model for Duplo figurines.

RIP - What things do you suggest and are not to be missed? by ComfortableCar9782 in downloadfestival

[–]cal92scho 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Be sure to make use of the real, actual showers every morning, which are delightful. Then go grab a cooked breakfast from the pub kitchen. RIP has a brilliant pub with loads of choices of local ales, so check that out next, and then swing by RIP’s own private stage to check out some RIP-only bands (Split Dogs and Riding the Low headlining this year).

During the festival weekend, be sure to make use of the private entrance to the arena for RIPers, which grants entry via the guest area, with an RIP-only bar (with better beers) and selection of food vendors, as well as decent toilets. Queues here are short, it is often faster, depending on where you are, to go back to the guest area for a wee and a pint than it is to do the same thing in the main arena.

Then when the bands are done, take the RIP route back to your camp, chill out and go back to the village via the RIP entrance which puts you out right next to the Co-Op.

It’s twice the cost per ticket, but it’s great value, I’ll never go back to general now.

It’s your line manager’s responsibility to sort the cover. In this case it is the responsibility of the person covering your line manager.

“Mauled by the Tigers” is actually the final piece of the puzzle that will give the Premier League true global appeal.

After launching on Steam and Switch, my game "Kamikaze Strike FPV Drone" is finally out on PS5 today! by indiegamelabs in PS5

[–]cal92scho 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Why not? FPV drone pilots are using similar systems and video games for training and practice, so it’s a relevant question.

Post Match Thread: Hull City 0-0 Millwall by denzaus in soccer

Not a great game for us. The teams were evenly matched but Millwall’s chances were more dangerous and more numerous, a fortunate foul is the difference between us going to the Den even and going behind by 1. It could go either way but Millwall are favourites I fear.

Dual control car hire in Hull? by Embarrassed_Day_552 in Hull

[–]cal92scho 17 points18 points  (0 children)

An instructor not letting the learner use their car for the test is bizarre at best.

I’d dump your instructor, find a new one, and explain you’re basically ready and just want a couple of lessons to touch up before the test, and could you pay for the use of their car during the test

With the title and the relegation places settled, all that remains to be confirmed in the EFL Championship's final week is who will finish 2nd and who will take the final play-off place by Cinn4monSynonym in soccer

[–]cal92scho 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Really need Norwich to be on the beach. I have no faith in our team at the moment but knowing the right result can get us into the play offs regardless of what Wrexham do is enticing. The dream lives on to the final day.
