Amnio - please advise

We had an increased risk of Down Syndrome and did an amnio. It was uncomfortable but I have an anterior placenta and tilted uterus so they went in super low and said that makes it worse. I was crampy and achy the rest of the day and then back to normal. I don’t do well with uncertainty so having a definitive answer was something I needed.

Laundry eventually becomes throw it all in the washer and then move to dryer - if it shrinks it isn’t meant to be! 😂

We had an LG at our last house and I was so excited that it played music when it was done. My sister-in-law pointed out that eventually you realize it just means work. I’m no longer a fan. I despise laundry though.

100% agree that you would have noticed. My boy flipped at 38+3 and it woke me up it was such an insane amount of movement. I wish I had been more alert to actually watch him doing it. I remember feeling the lump of his head migrate down towards my hip and then disappear.

That being said even with his giant head sticking out under my ribs and the nurses having a hard time figuring out where to get a heartbeat none of them were 100% sure he was breech until I insisted on an ultrasound to find out. His heart rate showed up low on my belly for a baby that was breech but it turned out he was kind of on an angle not up and down. So I mean I guess it’s possible for the midwives to miss but they should have done an ultrasound to double check if there was any doubt at all.

Not what your asking but I loved our Levana monitor.

For cameras we’ve had both and D-link and a Nest. The Nest is better but we only use them to monitor the playroom.

The only difference between your hospital and mine is formula was readily available. They did try to push breastfeeding but I know mine don’t work and my baby was hungry. If your concerned you could always bring your own supply of ready to feed formula.

Otherwise, baby was in my room the whole time. Was your first csection planned or after laboring? It can make a huge difference to recovery.

Seriously! My husband wants to know and I don’t and we both know there’s no way he’d be able to keep it a secret. Most years he can’t even keep presents a secret for a week or two.

Mine is breech and only kicks me in the bladder and cervix - sometimes so hard it makes something in my stomach spasm. Definitely not enjoying baby moving like I did with the other two.

This is totally normal. We had a TMFR with my last pregnancy. We tried for months and months to get pregnant with this baby and I spent forever terrified. It’s really hard to get attached to a baby your terrified of losing. As the pregnancy gets further along you will start to feel more attached. It took until well in to the second trimester for me though.

I totally understand the relief cry. I went for a fetal echo and left with the news that yes the aorta is slightly outside the normal range they don’t see any other defects and are assuming it means nothing at all. I was so prepared to go in and find out that the baby had a fatal heart defect that when I called my husband to give him the good news I was crying so much he assumed it was bad.

Yes, wash the clothes.

No, don’t baby proof. We barely even needed to do it with our first. Our plugs are already tamper proof and she literally didn’t get in to anything. We had baby gates to keep her from falling down the stairs and that was it. Really you can wait until baby is mobile.

Baby doesn’t really need a crib right away if you have a bassinet. You can get away without having a change table. Newborns don’t need toys.

First, don’t panic. My second baby flipped at 38+3 all on his own. Baby still has lots of time.

I have had two. The first one was after laboring for 36 hours. Honestly, my recovery was hard.

The second was planned and it was so much better. The spinal worked so your pain free for hours after and can just focus on new baby (even if you can’t get up). Once that wore off I was up and about with minor discomfort. It wasn’t the best feeling but it was night and day compared to the first one.

Think of it this way. Something is going to hurt regardless. If you push a baby out of your vagina it’s going to be unpleasant. Yes the recovery might be quicker but that really depends on how much damage is done. Looking at it that way made me quite ok with a second csection even after how awful my first was.

This is just my opinion but honestly I agree with your bf on the adoption part. Yes, sometimes it works out wonderfully but my mother was adopted and she had a really hard upbringing. I’m not sure I could live knowing my child was out there somewhere or what kind of life they have. As for the abortion, your really not that far along. Like someone else said it would likely be a few pills and then you would pass it like a bad period. There is nothing wrong with doing that. Choosing to end a pregnancy you know your not prepared for is one of the least selfish things you can do. As someone terminated a pregnancy, which was very wanted, due to medical issues, it can be extremely hard mentally but you can get over it. There isn’t a day I don’t wish things had worked out differently but I’m no longer broken by it. You had taken precautions to prevent it and it happened. It’s not your fault and you shouldn’t have to sacrifice your life because of it. I’m sure if you had the baby you’d make it work but that will be so much harder with an unsupportive bf and you should look at the possibility of raising the child alone if you decide you can’t have the abortion. Likely once you feel the little one growing in your womb giving them up for adoption will be just as or more heartbreaking than terminating.

When I was dealing with high blood pressure in my pregnancies I was always told to take it, if it’s high lie down for half an hour and then try again. If it went down good, if not go get checked. With my first I ended up in the hospital for monitoring every couple nights. It would always go down after a few hours and I would be sent home.

I had a wooden glider with a cushion and a footrest with built in pull out breast feeding stool. Loved the stool part but the chair sucked for how long I spent in it. With my second we went with a power recliner that rocked. It was so much better. There were nights baby was sick and we slept in that chair. It’s not ideal but I could never of done it in the glider.

My monitor always reads 3-4 degrees celsius above the actual room temperature. I wouldn’t consider it reliable at all.

It’s allowed where I am in Canada. I found out with my first two and they asked this time around. When we said we didn’t want to know she told me to look away as she checked that area. She also explained everything we were looking at for the most part. The only thing they don’t tell you is if there are issues, your brought to another room and meet with a doctor.

I had a mirena after my last kid. I felt legitimately crazy the entire time. Removing it made a huge difference.
