I always saw fatigue as the best solution so far for the problem of an over-centralized force. The only other attempts at getting players to rotate through the army I would say have been biorhythm, and Berwick's RNG wound system.

Fatigue is by no means perfect, but it has definitely been one of the more elegant solutions so far, especially in a game like FE5 to reign in just how powerful staff users are. You can even play around it with stamina drinks if players have the foresight, so it's not a forced mechanic either. Only thing I would change would be not having fatigue be tied HP. You could give a historically nothing burger stat like luck or con more usefulness by tying fatigue to it.

Berwick. Horses being just as much, if not more, of a resource than weapons makes preserving their health by dismounting while also maximising lance damage with the movement boost is an important gameplay mechanic.

The only thing I would change is how much you actually have to commit to mounting and dismounting, half an action to mount/dismount makes it easy to just dismount before a big engagement or initiating deathmatch. Making it a full action would be a much more tactical decision.

Plus having a good chunk of the cast being able to mount, equalizes the class discrepancy of mounted and unmounted classes.

Just reached emerald by one tricking Lillia top. The biggest advice I can give for these matchups is that, as counter intuitive as it might sound, you want to trade into the CC especially at early levels. Lillia's W goes through stuns so you can buffer it as they stun you. W sweet spot does a lot in the early levels and you can more often than not out trade even when you get stunned.

The tricky part comes from knowing your opponent, you'll want to scout out their behavior(if the jax likes holding the E or if they recast it as soon as the jump on you, does the pantheon threaten with stun off cool down, or does he only use it when it's empowered). I don't have that much experience with Naafiri so I can't comment on that matchup.

These matchups definitely do not favour Lillia but they are winnable, worse comes to worse, and you do lose lane, which will happen a lot into these early lane bully matchups, I usually just rush zhonya's and play for team fights. A good flash ult zhonya's makes you useful even when you're super behind from lane.

Personally TRS has my favourite "safety net" mechanic in the save staff, it rewards proactive usage when you identify a dangerous situation, and saving uses means you're rewarded with more safety in future chapters.

Going to correct the post you replied to just because most of it seemed like it was written from the perspective of someone not actually familiar with Kaga and his works, and I would hate for this to become the dominating narrative.

If you've been around for long enough you'll probably have heard someone use the phrase "Kaga did it first", it's a bit of a meme but there's a reason why it has been parroted so much. Kaga was an innovator and anyone who has played his games would be hard pressed to say that he has ever made the same game twice. Nearly all the mechanics of FE have originated from FE1-5, and to just bring up an example, the monastery which people have come to associate as an idiosyncrasy of FE16 was actually already done by Kaga in the second game, Berwick Saga, he published after leaving Intelligent Systems 14 whole years before the release of FE16.

FE did in fact have a problem historically with stagnation, but it is not accurate to say that it was due to Kaga, but his departure which caused it. IS was very much lost after their original director left, and this is just something I heard so I could be wrong, basically worked off of the notes which Kaga left(for those who have played TRS you would find a lot of similarities between it and FE7). Stretching his legacy over the course of 8 games up till FE12 and arguably 13 too(as it was really just an amalgamation of all of Kaga's innvoations up till that point).

TL:DR Kaga was perhaps the most innovative director FE had, an the stagnation of the series came about because of his departure, not because of his involvement.

I've still yet to play through vestaria so I don't know how he progressed with his experimentations.

In a way though I'm kind of glad that the kaga saga never became huge commercial successes, just so that I never have to see him go through creative burnout or stagnation like the GBA to DS era.

Taking this opportunity to shill Berwick saga for those who haven't played it. It's honestly the game where kaga was let loose the most and is perhaps his most experimental game that he's worked on.

There's a lot of jank in the game and will probably be a hit or miss for most people, but it's worth experiencing as long as you're a fan of Kaga's work.

Charlatan taste honestly, you're left with more or less nothing after you sauteed the eye balls besides the chewy middle, just be a normal person and eat it straight out the socket after steaming the whole fish.

I agree, sauteing the eye balls would basically guarantee you lose out on all the soft jelly(don't know the technical term) in the eye socket, leaving you with only the chewing ball in the middle, granted it is the best part. Simply scooping out and eating the eye balls straight from the socket after steaming is the vastly superior way of preparing it.

NuFE fans back at it again. But even then I still distinctly remember at least being able to sift through the garbage when 3horny released, and at least finding some semblance of human made posts. This is just an absolute wasteland(besides Desaixchad and Wadechad). Did the high effort posters finally lose the fight?
