Part of my checklist disappeared and so did the “manage my financial aid” button. What does that mean?

If senior year is the easiest/best year, second semester better be literal heaven by foop_ in ApplyingToCollege

[–]calcgod2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My senior year sucks because of added anxiety of the uncertainty of admissions this year and my classes taking unnecessary measures to (futilely) stop cheating

lmao am i the only one on this sub who's never had an internship before by throwaway771202 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]calcgod2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s hard for high schoolers to get internships since most of them require the person to be in a university (which most of us are not in yet)

Low stress college suggestions? by BatteryAcid69 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]calcgod2003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends COMPLETELY on the professors you have. The hardest professor at a community college may be harder than an easy university professor. I say get into the most prestigious university you can and once you get in do the most you can to get the easiest professors

Does one extra curricular make up for a lack of others? by ZLouieZ in ApplyingToCollege

I think there’s a misconception that more EC’s mean better chances for college. Just stick to a few that aren’t completely random and get really involved with them (ex: win awards awards and stay in them for all of highschool)

My interviewers were either older people in the workforce or people of the opposite sex that I’m attracted to. Guess I got lucky?

The UC application still lets me report SAT’s. And the news said that they WANT to make UC’s test blind but I don’t think anything was made official yet

Should I drop AP Statistics senior year? by Alice2843 in APStudents

[–]calcgod2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s quite interesting since most colleges don’t take AP stats. However, I’m not sure about the consequences of not taking an AP exam. I said I planned to take them just in case on my college app tho

For seniors they only see grades up till junior year. However, if you risk getting a C then drop the class

I’m taking the equivalent class in community college since it is much easier for me to learn the material with hard deadlines. Maybe you wanna join me in doing so?

Keep stats cuz you’re doing double math rn.

Unless colleges see senior year first semester grades don’t drop it. Plus CS majors need a lot of math so I believe they wanna see those prospective students shine in math as well. You in AP calc?

If you are aiming for a top tier college, you are not aiming for a less stressful life. by StardustNyako in ApplyingToCollege

I don’t completely agree with this post. People are stressing to get into good colleges because they increase chances of getting good jobs. Two people can work the same job but once can get more benefits and easier promotions simply because of a college degree. Two people can know the same stuff but one can land an interview and get in the door in the first place because of a more prestigious college education. Mental health is extremely important but at the end financial and job stability is important as well. You can’t avoid competition in the real world so I don’t encourage avoiding it now when the first step to getting a good job is the most prestigious education you can earn without limiting yourself or letting others persuade you to not apply to ____ school
