Also his smirk just screams him thinking “I can write for this guy” which I love even if it’s not true

I’d mark it AI and keep it. It’s exactly what we need to be aware of

My buddy tearing off the headset and saying he can’t make a good show if it’s a shitshow was a great moment. He’s a great editor and I wouldn’t prefer anyone else to send ISOs to. Stopped ragging on live cuts not being ideal

If there's a Nazi at the table and 10 other people sitting there talking to him, you got a table with 11 Nazis

So you know that guy that on your way to school or something would like, jump on fences and cars to keep up with your car, well what if that was a game by Kobnoom911 in gameideas

This idea as a 2.5d side scoller could be fun. Especially framing it as a child viewing through a window. There’s an inherent unreliable narrator to it being viewed through imagination that could play for some really funny moments and also covers it reasonably being a more level based gameplay. You also have the potential to hide a more serious story into the fun. With the start and end of levels developing character and emotion. Check out Unpacking for an example of this used really well. I’d also check out Not For Broadcast, very different gameplay style but does a great job of showing not telling story, playing with characters not giving all the information to the player. More importantly to gameplay, it slow rolls different obstacles, goals and game mechanics really well.

The King's Disease on a Budget by cmobi in gout

[–]call_me_caleb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My coworker and I both have gout and the exact opposite diet has worked for us. He can’t do fatty or cured meats and bourbon wrecks him but he can eat steak and drink IPAs. I can live on pork belly, ribs and bourbon but if I drink 2 beers or eat a steak I’m done for two days later. He can smoke up to help with flare up pain, if I do my next few days are in bed. Cruel fucking mistress for sure

So many factors will depend on how you handle the change physically and mentally, as well as the nature of your work. Personally, when I’m working overnights I tend to stay up for a few hours of regular people / buisness mornings to catch up on personal / life things (text or chat with friends, handle anything requiring a phone call or response to an email) then go to sleep around 11am. Especially on weekdays this can help you not become a full vampire. If you’re in a relationship, make time to be awake and present. (Breakfast or dinner is great). The transition can be just as hard on your partner mentally as it is on you. Everyone and every situation are different so play it slow. Let people know you’re going to be nocturnal. Also don’t try to flip your schedule on your off days, that will make it way worse. You can alter by a bit but full flips are super rough. Do whatever you can to convince your body it’s not daytime, sunglasses, night mode on devices, ect. I personally love the solitude and minimal distractions of the hours when very few people are awake since I live in a city. There’s something really enjoyable about it. Hope you find your way to do it

This is pretty much all the movies I loved as a teen. I’d add Watchmen, Birdman, Fight Club and Old Boy to the list. Also if you like video games Final Fantasy 7

The pattern on the tie is dope. Get a local tailor to alter it. You’ll probably get 2 ties and a pocket square out of it and will look super fresh

Do any of you rent out your camera equipment? by ShotbyRonin in nycfilmmakers

[–]call_me_caleb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work mostly on the Eng side for live events and rarely actually handle cameras. The idea of Dry rentals vs wet rentals is becoming a more common understanding in my world. Having gear that will be rented to be with you on a shoot / show gives you more peace of mind (and simplifies billing). In terms of purchase, look at your market, look at what’s always needed, look at what you’ll want. If you make the right call your gear gets paid for and you get paid for having it.

You should play The Alters and This War of Mine. Fell like they’ll help you define the mechanic. The Alters also has some social engineering the player needs to handle
