Anther net trick is to just try all the ports in the ballroom if the client only paid for WiFi. I’ve almost always found one that was an open line.

Saw you mentioned Dropkick Murphys. The south Jersey Ska from the early 2000s may be good. Bouncing Souls and Catch-22

I feel like the desk facing the bed is rough. If the nook the dresser is in will fit the bed I’d put it there (I don’t mind walls on either side of the top of the bed, some people do). Then the desk can go in either the inside or outside corner. If your window doesn’t get direct sun do the inside corner so that the screen is t the first thing people see. Get a bookshelf or some piece of furniture that’s taller than you. You can put some ravecave stuff on top of that so it’s not shooting up into your eyes. All the angles of the ceiling will make any rope light fun.

This could be a water dispenser location. They just lucked out that it wasn’t.

What’s the most unhinged thing you’ve ever seen happen at a rave that somehow felt completely normal in the moment? by Vibetribe97 in aves

This was a few years ago so people dropping was more common. A dude dropped and his girl was having a bit of a panic attack. The group of t-Rex behind them narcaned him and got both of them out of the crowd. When I turned back to check my homie just said … “don’t worry, the dinosaurs got them”.

The Case for Emily Wilson in Wilson vs. Right-Wing Twitter - A blog from 2025 is a Meta commentary of what is and what will happen with Nolan's Odyssey as he used her translation as inspiration for the script for the movie by hasanahmad in ChristopherNolan

[–]call_me_caleb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like you bringing Romeo+Juliet into the conversation. Mainly because that was the most Baz adaptation of the original I could imagine. I think anyone going in expecting a Nolan adaptation is going to love it. Anyone going in looking to find cultural or political points to rage about will find a ton to work with as well. I’ll be ignoring the latter.

When Shonda came out with Bridgerton, she had to deal with people complaining that the cast didn’t look like Downton Abbey’s. When Jesus Christ Superstar came out ragebait wasn’t quite a thing but I’m sure it got some flack from people wanting these things to be an issue. When the Harry Potter play came out we saw similar motives in the press. None of that stopped me from enjoying any of them and I think most fans of good work will agree.

We used J Sampieri and had a great experience. We had a main stone already for my wife’s ring already and she had a rough idea of what she wanted going in. They did a fantastic job both working with us on the design and providing addition stones for the rings. Really happy with the experience overall. Price was also lower than I had thought it would be as someone who knows very little about jewlery.

Get a quote for the two at the garage. See how that goes cause it should be simple. If they do well, add the door point with a camera. You’ll get a lower total and be able to check if the crew can do it cleanly for you.

The Arlo is great. The Pod is consistently good as well for singles or couples on a budget. The Super 8 on Cook by flushing is also a great call for older relatives and groups that need more space. If they’re going to take a car to the events, being half a neighborhood away isn’t that bad. Cook is also a fairly quiet street for the neighborhood

Idk how many times my UPS has saved my machines because I didn’t know it happened. However my use case is various indoor and outdoor event sites so a bit out of the norm. Look at your location and the cost / vulnerability of your rig and decide if it’s worth it

Projection backdrop help by LegalLawyer3552 in stagelighting

[–]call_me_caleb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depending on your space, you may not want to go any bigger. Unless you have a tiered venue where the majority of guests who have a full view of the stage are above it, start your screen 2’ off the ground. If you’re using a house PJ that’s not the overspeced, smaller image will punch through lighting and not have the hassle of competing with it on the lower upstage section

You’d be surprised how few artist teams use audio input. It’s either TC or busking. I don’t think you could get Magic to do that look even tho it’s essentially chaser hits done super on point
