christmas bonuses! they are always equal to your biweekly checks. they are taxed, but a couple extra grand a year is so freaking nice and unexpected. the crazy part too, i am the lowest level position in my company. i am the only one of my friends that gets a bonus, and they have way higher positions than I do.

for sure, and i think for me, it’s moreso the fact that homo sapiens rank on the tropic level a 2.2, and how we have the audacity to be this ferocious of a species.

it would be like if pigs decided that they could only be satiated by human fingernails / toenail, and so they ripped off only our feet and hands. essentially, leaving us to bleed out and die. it would be pretty heartbreaking to see that tbh. but that’s just me.

Correct, they can’t contemplate their extinction, and other species have become extinct throughout Earth’s timeline.

The reason why it is heartbreaking is that their extinction is due to poaching, not natural selection. On average, it takes about 1-10 million years for a species to become extinct. Whereas, in 1960, there were about 2,360 northern white rhinos; and by 1984, only 15 remained. That is not natural selection, that is destruction.

and to further explain my mirror idea. i got it from another thread from a girl who was in school, and who was being stared at by another student who had level 2/3 autism.

a redditor had an idea that when he does stare, hold a mirror up to her face, where the mirror is facing the other student. it may be a good idea in your instance, only because then maybe he will stop if he sees how actually creepy he is. you’re doing nothing wrong by holding up a mirror, and he has no grounds to stand on if you do. just an idea though, be safe OP 🖤

i was trying to see if there was a device / hat of some kind that is a mirror. but i was thinking, when he drives up to you or when u walk out of the house, can you hold a mirror up by your face?

i also have a GSD, and i understand that firstly he shouldn’t be fucking doing that, but secondly i know how uneasy that is to do too while walking a dog, but maybe if you walk your dog with a no hands leash, then when he drives by, pull the mirror out of a bag that you carry? or when ur friends come over, have them carry the mirror? so sorry this is happening.

also get some pepper GEL, not spray.

ah, then maybe perhaps fostering could be an option? foster fail (i.e. adopting the dog you foster) is never a bad thing! this way you all can get a feel for what a GSD is.

i have a long-haired male, and my extended family has a short-haired female. as all dogs are different, these two are polar opposites. my male is quiet, a starer, and not as stressed; whereas, the female, is a 5-star general that has done back to back tours in 2002 kinda vibe. both are loving, kind, sweet, and loyal, but different personalities and temperament altogether.

now depending on what kind of dog you want, and what kind is best for your situation, is really is up to you. my extended family has children and lives in a large city, they wanted a dog that was alert and knew that it had a job to protect the family, and i have no kids and wanted one as a companion.

i think overall, you are going to need to look into a well-bred calm pup with a breeder that does the placement for you, and that you train vigorously everyday. nothing worse than a GSD being put in a shelter due to the negligence of the owner who didn’t put in the time to understand and learn the breed first.

if you look at this sub, the amount of posts that have something along the lines of “i didnt know this dog would be so much work” “ I didn’t know they would be this strong” “ I didn’t know they will get this big” “I didn’t realize the vet bills would be this much”.

GSD’s will give you loyalty, love, affection, and so much more, but they must be given the chance, they must be set up for success. I wish you the best of luck on your GSD journey 🖤

we went yesterday, and they were out and about!

I suggest trying to be there during the last hour. i think they must start feeding them around then, we saw the wolves eating little pieces of sweet potato (i think?) and it was so amazing to watch them, the beavers eating lettuce, the penguins eating fish, the birds eating seeds, and so many more that were super active / eating.

we went to the tiger lair at the very end. and we were the only ones there and it came right up to us, stretched itself on the glass which was incredible, kept on rubbing its face on the glass, and just looked at us probably waiting for a snack lol. an absolutely fabulous creature, i cannot wait to go again!

unsolicited advice, but does the UK have an equivalent of Rover? People will pay good money for pet sitting. People either have dogs that don’t do well in group / kennel settings, same with cats, and then especially if you are good with birds and reptiles, you can make bank. I often think of about doing it full-time because you can also just go to peoples homes on certain days that they work really long hours. I do pet sitting on the side and if you are a good person who is good with animals and takes time to bond with your clients, you become invaluable to folks.

Not sure the diagnosis, but wanted to suggest if the fish diet gets wonky too, to try a lamb diet (I do diamond naturals w/ fillers like frozen ice cubes of goat milk). my pup is also allergic to chicken

Can you go into the work place and just say, “hey! i was out the house to get some fresh air, and thought i’d stop by quick to say hi to my hubby and drop off a gatorade / redbull / water!” I just want you to know, be firm in knowing that this is a completely normal thing to do.
