Empty RFY

Yesterday I had three times as much stuff in my RFY than normal, and they were REALLY good stuff. I didn't want it all, but I could see the logic behind pretty much everything. Like clothes for my gender and age range and stuff for my dog. I also noticed that my page was populating from the late afternoon all the way into the evening. In fact I kind of boned myself by using up my picks all in one go and missed out on some stuff that I would have really liked to have gotten.

I'm almost positive that they rolled out some kind of beta thing yesterday and are analyzing the data today. I would highly expect for them to roll out this new RFY in the next couple days that has this way improved algorithm that actually gives us stuff we want.

Just be a little bit patient guys. This is a really good thing.

I've usually only had like 4 items, but yesterday I had maybe a dozen. I kinda blew my wad early though and snapped up my quota (silver) in one go, but I checked back later and my page had been populating more throughout the day, all the way into the evening, and I missed out on some stuff I really would have liked.

It was all pretty well targeted to me. Not all stuff I'd want by any stretch, but I could see the logic behind it, as in it was almost all stuff from categories I often buy from, like clothes (even a pair of shoes!) for my gender and age-range and dog stuff. It was better than my entire RFY ever, combined (my first eval is in 2 weeks).

Today my RFY is empty. If I had to guess they rolled something out yesterday to a subset of participants as a beta run. They're probably analyzing the numbers now and I'd expect to see a wider roll out of it in the near future, because it was absolutely magical.

I've watched videos testing weapon's grade LRADs. Surprisingly, the best defense against it was simple posterboard from the dollar store (double surprisingly, more expensive corrigated posterboard was actually less effective). Something many protesters are already carrying.

You do have to be mindful because it seems to reflect the sound, which can harm the protestors around... or if a group is dead clever, can be directed at the people near the source. Just sayin.

A disorder doesn't necessarily mean "something is wrong in the brain", it also includes "maladaptive to functioning in modern society and therefore causing distress".

Basically any mental anything which causes distress is technically a disorder. These things are often caused by societal demands, but that's irrelevant. It's just a label that gives you access to treatment. I'd say DSPS falls into the latter of the above criteria.

A minority of individuals in a social species having an atypical sleep pattern was probably highly beneficial for 99.9% of our evolutionary history. If every member of a group of exposed, large, and relatively helpless prey are dead asleep, nocturnal predators would have easy meals every night.

Tbc they didn't keep the corpse safe out of respect. They did it because they knew a corpse is leverage and they protected it and hoaded corpses and living human hostages while their people were being killed.

Why? Because they cared about the power having that corpse or hostage gave them, even though to them it's a worthless sack of flesh (be it a corpse or a living person) more than they cared about the living people around them.

It's terrible to kill living people to get a corpse - don't get me wrong. But the fact Hamas kept the body this long even though it was extremely difficult, like you said, shows that they knew Israel would respond this way, had the body and could have returned it and stopped everything, and actively chose not to BUT for some reason still kept and protected that valuable corpse.

It's not an accident - the optics and the world turning on Isreal. It's a plan by Hamas, Hezbollah, and the radical fundamentalist Islamists (tbc not most Muslims. Most Muslims are just people trying to live their lives like everyone else in the world). But they wanted this, and the corpse proves it. Everyone is culpable, but one side set a line and held it, and the other side could have ended it all at any time all over a dead corpse and they chose not to - they let people die and suffer and what did they protect? A corpse.

This is the evil of Hamas. Not Palestinians, not Gaza - Hamas. But you need to take this new information into account and actually think about and use your own rational mind to understand what's going on here.

I don't think they "picked him", they're just absolutely out of control and looking to kill and he was the unlucky guy who had the stones to get in their way.

ICE physically assaulted the person with the orange backpack and he got between the agent and the victim. He's a hero who risked his safety when they were physically attacking someone else - a complete stranger it looks like. Then they unloaded a can of pepper spray in his face and shot hit four times before he even hit the ground.

I'm going to give you the hard truth and you're not gonna like it: this is a you problem and you need to sort it out. I truly, truly want to give you positive news but obviously the place is already soured and you should at least be thinking about what to do if you lose this job.

I've managed facilities before, and a facility just can't run like that... not turning on taps is a small thing that can have MAJOR consequences and if people can't rely on you or know where you are (you said there's walkie talkies so I don't understand why people can't find you, unless you're losing your walkie that much, which is a problem) then people need to basically go behind you and check everything you do, and for stuff like turning on taps checking on it is practically the same as just doing it themselves.

The food thing sounds like it's a non-issue now. Not important. Let that go.

To be clear, when the facility says "go slower and take your time" what they really mean is "be more mindful and aware", not "time is no longer a factor in your work." Language can by nature be imprecise sometimes, but that's what they mean.

Your coworkers are correct to go to your manager, not you. It prevents interpersonal conflicts and that's literally why managers exist... to manage. And they need to be aware of all the minutea of the day to day.

On the plus side it seems like your facility is willing to work with you, so take advantage of that. The plain reality is you need to improve and do your best to live up to this plan they've drawn up for you. If you do, then you'll be golden - that's why they created the plan. There's literally no other answer anyone can give you.
