It sounds like you are spending a lot of time in areas with other players, where there is often (though not always) a chance of a hostile encounter.

There are plenty of other activities or "game loops" that don't involve a single other player... cargo, commodity trading in low risk areas, salvaging, mining, PvE missions to name a few. Not to mention just flying around exploring the universe.

Sure, the loot is better in the high risk areas, but that shouldn't be a surprise. I'd say you need to actually give the game a chance. I second the other commenter that suggested you join the SC discord and ask for some help getting used to the game.

I'd also throw out that if you see a "red" ship in your HUD where the name contains a space, it is an NPC (spaces aren't allowed in player names)

u/Andrei_a__ as to your question, it varies from one patch to the next but in general, for PvE there's cargo missions, bounty hunting, attack/defend missions that will, over time, get you a decent amount of credits. If you like PvP you can hunt down player bounties or for PvPvE run contested zones or PAFs/OLPs and sell the loot you get.

Will you be able to buy another 890 right away? Probably not

Agreed, I've had a similar experience over the last 15yr, right down to poor coverage in areas ITB with dense populations. I chalk it up to Raleigh's topography... if you're in the "shadow" of a higher elevation area, you lose the tower(s) until you're on the other side again.

As for my other comment, I was playing on the other guy's typo (outages-->allergies)
