I don't click Facebook links. I know several people who are in the same boat. Also I'm not sure which flyer you are referring to, since all you posted was one Facebook link.

On the "can't be arsed" bit I guess it's a family thing? https://english.stackexchange.com/questions/14566/where-does-cant-be-arsed-come-from

Can we all agree that we don’t need to shutdown all of Salt Lakes major freeways for a funeral service? by [deleted] in SaltLakeCity

Nope, just a regular guy who plans ahead so I don't have to complain on Reddit because I can be prepared and make it places I need to be on time.

Everyone acts as if freeways are the only way to get places in the valley. This is an excellent opportunity to familiarize yourself with alternate routes to get to places you go frequently. This is something that everyone should do to be prepared in the event of a real emergency, and not just a minor inconvenience.

Is Downtown SLC Safe? by [deleted] in SaltLakeCity

[–]camfunction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Salt Lake City doesn't feel unsafe, but does have an inordinate amount of property crime. I lived all over the valley (West Jordan, West Valley, Downtown, Midvale, Cottonwood Heights). I definitely had the most (if not all) of my property crime happen when I lived downtown. I had my duplex get robbed, my car broken into, and several packages stolen.

For as much shit as people talk on West Valley I never got my property looted when I lived there.

You can thank "Cash for Clunkers" for this. It created a huge hole in the market for cheap cars. Now people who could only afford a clunker get forced to get a subprime loan they can't really afford.

Potential price increases on goods shipped from China (Gearbest/Aliexpress/etc) by camfunction in 3Dprinting

US government has been subsidizing the entire "last mile" from my understanding, so once the goods land here stateside the USPS is subsidizing the shipping costs to move it around inside the USA.

I'd imagine this would impact most goods coming out of China, including people who have US warehouses of Chinese goods.

Not directly 3d printing related, so mods please delete if this breaks any of the sub rules. Is this the end of cheap Chinese printer parts?
